Hi everyone! Been playing ME1 again and while talking to the consort (ugh*) Kaidan had a bit of dialogue I'd never heard before. He sounded rather annoyed and said something like, "Yeah, enough already, what'd you want to talk to the commander about?" Never had that happen before, not sure what triggered it, but it was cute. I like that Kaidan finds the consort as irritating as I do.

*I'd forgotten just how much I dislike the consort. The uninvited touching and writhing around really bother me. I want to be able to say to her, "Back off, lady. I'll help you, just stop with the touching already! I'm not interested. Also, my boyfriend is right here." My Shep wasn't there because she was interested in Shai'ira's "services", she just wanted to help out that poor elcor diplomat. He seemed so sad!

Before I go back into hiding, if anyone happens to have all the super secret pics lying around, could you please send them my way? Curiosity has finally gotten the better of me. Thanks!

Hi Akhna! Welcome, and we liked to encourage you to post more and lurk less.

The bit of dialogue with Kaidan will occur if you wait to see the consort after you have initiated the "romance" with Kaidan. I normally get it by going to do one of the actual story missions post-Citadel (normally to get Liara) and then come back and do the side quests at the Citadel. Then Kaidan gets all sexy and snarky at the consort.

Hi Akhna welcome to the gutter. I love it when Kaidan gets snarky with the consort - it cracks me up every time and I always wait till I've triggered the romance before I see the consort.

I really like the scenes where Kaidan becomes all jealous. I always initiate a romance with both Liara and him just so I can get some more emotion out of him with the confrontation scene and all. evul :x

I've never forced the conforntation. My Shep is quick to tell Liara that they are just friends. Course, she isn't the kind to string someone along (which is what it would feel like to intentionally mislead Liara).

Ah, that explains it. In past playthroughs I always did all the Citadel side quests I could before heading off for the main story missions. Love sexy snarky Kaidan and it's fun to discover something new after playing ME1 numerous times already.

Grats on 800 pages Bit late but I've been busy Great to see the thread doing so well, love coming back here each day!

As for the sekret pic, I'll see what I can do. Have some work to finish up first before I can even look into it. Twill most likely be a Kaidan/Shep thing.

Personally, I want Kaidan back on the squad as soon as possible, but since the devs aren't making the game for me, I know that there's got to be some sort of drama attached to bringing Kaidan or Ash back.  I like the idea of working with the Alliance, but no longer a part of it, so Kaidan/Ash become a liaison, but I can see them taking a stand against Alliance bureaucracy and deciding to join Shepard as an option too. 

I definitely don't want them to not join the party until the end of the game, or have to make a sacrifice-choice again, Kaidan/Ashley fans have suffered enough.

Of course, there is also the "Kaidan and Shepard go someplace private to talk about their relationship and fall into each other's arms" option...but I think that's gonna stay in the realm of fanfiction...

I'm actually hoping that it will be a sort of chance meeting early in the game where shep & Kaidan are both on the same mission, possibly in a cerberus base, Kaidan thinks that shep is there because she's still with Cerbrus, but then they have to team up to destroy the base or something & both end up on the Normandy - after a bit of angst, they are reunited & Kaidan stays on the Normandy with the Alliance's blessing (or shep is brought back into working with the Alliance & gets to keep Kaidan.

I agree that Kaidan/Ash fans deserve a break from the sacrifice thing again - let someone else cop that next time.

Agree I want to be able to recruit them asap and resolve everything. I think it's really difficult trying to predict what will happen in the third game. ME2 left so many loose ends and uncertainties. Some have speculated in Shepard being investigated by Ash/Kaidan (who becomes the second spectre), being in the same situation as Saren, and where you eventually get to persuade them to join your cause. Personally I don't wish for this to happen.

I also hope Shepard starts act on her own using all resources (factions) she collected in the two games. Hopefully Bioware surprise me, in a good way .

I've got a few musings of how I'd like to get Kaidan back on the squad, but I am in the camp primarily that I want it to happen:



a) Early in the game

2) Working with / not against each other

3) Me rejoining the Alliance (that's a personal preference as my Shep is Alliance4life)

The problem I see with recruiting Kaidan is that you can play Me2 as a renegade giving Cerberus all the info the want and where you pretty much align yourself with them at the end. In that case it seems really strange to blow up some Cerberus base at the beginning of Me3.

Yeah, I was just a girl then (late 80's, yes?), but I still remember every sunday after 4PM, every kid and teenager was sitting home, watching "Robin of Sherwood". Damn, even when Jason Connery took the role, there was no one who didn't liked those series. I still say Clannad did one of the best soundtracks ever.

with me! Michael Praed was I think my first crush! I cried when he
died, and at the end of Jason's series too. We had some of Jason's
episodes on tape, so I grew to prefer his Robin. I have the soundtrack
at home too of course. What a fantastic series! The
Sherriff/Gisburne snark will never be surpassed.

Making Kaidan/Ash the antagonist would require them to be evil, Shep to be evil or everybody to be so goddamn stupid they'll make the Turian councillor in ME2 look like a genius strategist.

So no.. it better not happen. Setting aside fangirl reasons, it just doesn't work.

Wow, am I doing a terrible job of posting this morning. Argh.

Anyway, I agree with Sapph so much. Most important to me are: getting Kaidan as a squadmate ASAP and being able to join up with the Alliance again. I kept my Spectre status, forwarded the intel to the Alliance, etc. I want to that count for something, damnit! Worse case scenarios in my book would be not meeting Kaidan/having him join you until the very end of the game, or of course him not being recruitable at all...I want him to play an important role on my Normandy, not on some other ship!

I have a scene that I'd like to see, but it's one of those best left in the realms of fan fiction. However, I want an apology, and all sorts of affectionate make-up, after some airing of grievances between the two.
