Why? Him having his suit with N6 next to Shepard with her N7 would be extremely cute to me...

No, Tali had been intended, they scrapped her because they didn't think anyone would like her 'chicken feet.' Garrus was entirely out of left field as romanceable, however, so that is correct. They are big on fanservice. However, the Kaidan fanbase and the Ashley fanbase combined can't outnumber the Tali base. (MAYBE if we united with the Liara fans...) So yeah, we're kind of easy to ignore.
And who the hell listens to girl gamers?
Yes you're right; I shouldn't have said "never intended", I should have said "intended not to be." As a communication studies major I should have caught that.
Still, your argument seems to rest on an "either us or them" mentality; it precludes the possiblity of neither fanbase being ignored. Which, again, is a bit shakey.
Besides, who says that there are no Kaidan fanboys? And we all know that the juggernaut bromance/gay lobby can flatten puny BioWare!

They've set themselves up to do too much in one video game, IMHO. Hell, the number of things they'd have to pull off in the end of the trilogy would be daunting even for a novel (which is what I actually know about). ME3 may end up being make or break for Bioware, frankly. I see it being difficult to pull off everything they need to do to come to a satisfying conclusion. If they don't bring back the ME2 squad mates for ME3 as full squadmates, they've cheapened you busting your butt to get everyone out alive. If they don't bring back the ME1 LIs, they're cheapening everything you did in ME1. If they concentrate on the characters too much (and with 12+ it'll be hard not to), the main story will suffer.
Too many eggs, not enough baskets and something's gonna get dropped.

Agreed. Some group is going to get extremely disappointed.
I'm of the opinion that they already spread themselves too thin with too many characters and yet they're adding more with Zaeed and Kasumi. They spread themselves too thin already, and now they've got the ME1 LIs to deal with.
The conclusion I am forced to draw is that someone is going to be extremely upset. Dunno who yet.

Yeah Spectres outrank any normal military ranks.
Also, were Kaidan come aboard the Normandy, Shepard is the captain regardless of rank and thus he'd server under her.. heh heh heh..

They could fight over it and it could culminate into angry dominance-establishing sex!

Spectres don't outrank, they operate outside. Hmm, that sounded dirty.
