I agree, I doubt they're going to cut corners as much as is suspected sometimes. They already doubled the amount of romances. We don't really have an idea of how many squad mates will be in ME3, I doubt Zaeed and Kasumi will rejoin, they're DLC characters with limited characterization compared to the other squad mates. I think sometimes people don't give Bioware enough credit, the game itself is huge and took plenty of effort (can only imagine the nightmare of programming it), I think they'll be able to satisfy people who romanced someone in ME1 or ME2. Time will tell though.archonambroseus wrote...

Agreed. Some group is going to get extremely disappointed.
I'm of the opinion that they already spread themselves too thin with too many characters and yet they're adding more with Zaeed and Kasumi. They spread themselves too thin already, and now they've got the ME1 LIs to deal with.
The conclusion I am forced to draw is that someone is going to be extremely upset. Dunno who yet.
Maybe I'm putting too much thought into this, but the argument here seems to be that it takes less programming "man hours" (I guess) to make an disappointing story arc than a satisfying one, which isn't really the case (I mean, Jacob's romance sucks because the romance sucks, not because they spread themselves too thin). It seems like the only way to cut corners with the LIs would be to a) kill them off orrelegate them to unimportance. We are already pretty sure that neither of those will happen; the only evidence against that seems to be "well they haven't always done what they've said," which isn't really evidence. It seems like most of the naysaying comes from a desire to naysay, which is why I'm being so persistent on this.
Sure, they very well may have to cut corners somewhere in ME3 (it's certainly shaping up to be of Herculean proportions), but frankly there are much more likely corners to be cut. Saying that it's undoubtedly going to be one of the LIs is, IMO, just silly.

Also, were Kaidan come aboard the Normandy, Shepard is the captain regardless of rank and thus he'd server under her.. heh heh heh..
They could fight over it and it could culminate into angry dominance-establishing sex!
EDI: "Shepard, Alenko; the crew showers are not meant for that kind of behaviour."
Shepard: "Well we already trashed the lounge, what else is there?
Kaidan: "To the captain's cabin, I'll win yet!"
Shepard: "If you damage my fish tank I'll make you pay!"
Kaidan: "Is that a promise?"

Hmmm...
They *do* have to stamp the ship as theirs by having sex in every room.
This is a scientific fact.

Jacob's romance sucks because they should have just made him a renegade character, through and through, Shep's approach would have made a lot more sense.
My fear comes from what i know is possible and if Bioware pulls off ME3 the way it should be, it will be glorious! But it could also fall miserably.

I'm hoping that Udina becomes competent in ME3 so the decision at the end of ME1 doesn't amount to choosing someone awesome (Anderson) or choosing an idiot (Udina). Not really much of a choice if it is.
He's plenty competent; Anderson admits it either way. If Anderson's the councilor, he says he thinks Udina would have been a better choice; if you choose Udina, Anderson admits he does a wonderful job (even though he's a huge a**). As I see it, it comes down to biting the bullet at giving a really effective jerk the position or giving in and spiting the really effective jerk to pad the retirement of a not that effective really nice guy. Seems like it's a bit of a choice to me.

First Shep comes off as a pervert and Jacob's like "Um what? I'm just trying to talk to you, you creepy woman." and in the second half Jacob becomes the weirdo going on about "teh priiize", while Shep doesn't get any better.
It's just awful.

True, true. I just wish we'd get a better sense of Udina doing a good job in ME3. I've only played ME2 with one shepard, who concentrated on sovereign (and appointed Udina), so maybe I missed out an any indication of Udina doing a particularly good job because the council wasn't alive.archonambroseus wrote...

I've mentioned this a few times, but I still can't get over the fact that after the suicide mission, when Jacob gives his opinion on what you did with the base, Shep does the same dialog option in a normal voice.
I mean that just rubs it in!

Even with a renegade Shepard, I don't see why anyone would pick Udina over Anderson, unless its because they know how much cabin fever Anderson will end up with by having a desk job. If Udina is Cauncilman, it could throw a wrench into the plans of Shepard rejoining the Alliance.
My renegade never picks Udina. In fact if I had the option I'd eject him into space for stabbing me in the back.

Udina has more political experience. I'd imagine he'd be more able to manipulate the council into doing what he desires. I could imagine him as being a tyrant in an all human council, and progressively better if you concentrated on sovereign or saved the council.Shavon wrote...
