The problem with this argument is that he's generally shown in ME2 to not be an effective politician.  If you listen to the news broadcasts he a "diplomatic incident waiting to happen" and none of the other races (or reporters) can stand him.  He won't even bother getting you reinstated as a Spectre, and any impartial logic I can apply suggests it would be good PR, if the Savior of the Citadel™ is still alive, to be able to claim that s/he is still working for the Council and the general good of the galaxy.  *shrugs*

I actually haven't seen any of that in my Udina-as-councilor games.  The only things I've heard regarding his leadership on the whole playthrough (with extended news sessions) was Anderson saying he's 10x more of an ass than before but still damn good at what he does.  Is this perhaps influenced by your decision regarding the council?

I think there must be another variable at work here, since in my playthrough Anderson got the council to re-instate me as a specter before Udina showed up; Udina was miffed at Anderson for going over his head, but didn't seem to object.

I hope you're right.

Ashley and Kaidan are foils of each other. They deserve completely different dialogue etc.

Exactly! That's why the dialogue on Horizon was so frustrating. They might as well have put a dancing hamster there for all the effect Ashley/Kaidan's character had on the conversation.

Don't mean to be a black cloud on things but.. yeah.

After my ending I got in the last BW game installment, I've had a fairly pessismitic view of things to come, but I'm trying to let the positivenenss of the thread see me through.

Come on, it couldn't be worse than the Alistair ending to DAO...right? Right? (If it is, I will give up on bioware games forever. I am still scarred by the demon baby thing. Just thinking of it makes my brain cry.)

The thing is, in the Renegade play trough it all human run by a dick head. I need to pick Undia to get that in game to see how it goes. Though, I wouldn't let him near my ship in fear of me spacing him. He is such a jack ass politician instead of being a freaking leader like he is supposed to be.. People shouldn't be politicians when they can't think what is best for there people.

Since when did being fit for service determine whether you were allowed to be a politician?Posted Image

Indeed, Lincoln would have a seizure at what's happened to the republicans. This coming from someone of fairly conservative leanings! Though I also identify as a moderate.

Udina is just an ass of unequaled scale though. He makes our politicians look level-headed and reasonable.Posted Image

Hello everyone.

Wow I missed a political rant (well sorta...) Well I saved the council and made Anderson Councilor *(what? Jenshep enjoys the site of angels flying from her backside!). Actually it was a strategic decision; try and keep in favour (in vain apparently) with the three other leading races and borrows their ships and firepower when 'Reapers' come, none?

Anyhow, I'll try to stay active but I'm trying (not overly successfully) to mix the main theme of Mass Effect with the main theme of Metal Gear Solid 1. It sounded quite cool when I played them simultaneously at college but now it won't go right...

Yeah the whole sleep with the skanky witch & have a demon baby really p'd me right off, but I do agree with Sapphy about the ending of "the last BW installment', it sucked big time - I'd rather get the demon baby, at least my warden could kill that.

Its hard to keep faith on a happy ending after those but I'm tryingPosted Image

Lincoln is exmaple of a great leader . He alone united the Union, and the south something most people didn't think posabile. Hell, I pretty conservative as well, but I'm ashamed at how the republcains have truned away from what Lincoln wanted., and imbreased the reglouis right. :(

DA:O is a different case than ME. ME is a trilogy, DA:O was a single game. To end a romance spanning two or three games tragically would be a slap in the face. I don't expect them to do it, but I will criticize them heavily if they do. Having tragedy for the romance invariably at the end of a trilogy is like giving the middle finger to the fans.

You're right; having it end tragically doesn't seem feasible. What does seem feasible though is them not putting a strong effort into it, like the awful shared lines/stupid Shep responses of ME2. That is what has me concerned.

I'm sorry, but if the don't put a effort in to the Romance in ME3. I will scream bloody murder
