I'm planning on replaying ME2 after my ME1 run through, but it's going to be tough because I know going into it that there will be no Kaidan. I really hope the countdown clock has something to do with an announcement about ME3. I need my Kaidan!

I can't think of a single part of the Kaidan romance in ME1 that I didn't like.  It was all so awesome, though some parts are funnier and some are more serious.  I have promised myself I will replay ME1 as a colonist/war hero Shep once I get all my DA:O achievements... which will be ample incentive to hurry up with that!  I want my Kai-Kai!

Hahaha it cracks me up every time. I'm slowly adding Kaidan videos and funny moments, and then when I start my manshep playthrough, I think I'll add all of the ashley romance dialogues too.

The Cora den scene were Kaidan is admiring the view of Shepard is funny as hell.

What, the "It's got quite the... umm... view" line?  That one makes me LOL every single time.  Kaidan and Ash together in ME1=total win!  Especially on the Citadel; a lot of their funniest moments are there.

To their credit, though, the pre-Ilos "not right now" conversation option flows well regardless; I didn't feel so much like I was kicking a puppy as I was saying "you'll get your treat but you have to be a good boy first!"

I had that one earlier today.  It's one of my favorite ones.  I also thought it was funny how Ash told Kaidan to put his tongue back in his mouth before he tripped over it, after he made his comment in Chora's Den.  I'd actually never seen that one before, despite that I must have played ME1 about 6-7 times before ME2 came out.

I'm glad I'm replaying.  I forgot how great some of the Kaidan interactions are.  I love the med bay scene after Eden Prime, where he does that little crooked smile after Shep tells him he couldn't have known what would happen with the beacon.  I also like the conversation you can have with him just outside of the med bay after that.  

My only complaint is that there aren't enough dialogs with Kaidan.  I wish my Shep could have talked to him more.  He's a really sweet guy.  I didn't do him justice when I originally played ME1.  I thought he was cute and I liked the romance, but I didn't really appreciate just how yummy he is until he told my Shep off on Horizon on ME2 and broke her wee heart.

No, there are more - I mean the locker scene and the night before Ilos scene are the only official romance scenes, I guess, but there is a lot more romance dialogue with Kaidan than what I have posted right now. I've just started a new playthrough for it, so I'm posting it as I go. Unfortunately it's mid-semester so I haven't had as much time to play this week as I would have liked, but I need to get back on it. My Shep's just become a spectre, so Feros or Therum is next, I guess. 

I figure if I do that for all of us Kaidanites, it would be kind to do it for the Ashley fans too, right? Plus, Ash is basically awesome, so it's a win-win.

Ah.  I never tried the "Not right now," route so I wouldn't know about that.  Fair point... my guess is Bioware simply didn't expect too many people to take that middle road.

You going to do all the side quests too?

Probably not all of them this time through, but if there are specific ones that you guys want youtube clips of, let me know and I'll do them and post them for you.

And to be fair, what I would see as a more fitting scene isn't even much different; perhaps an awkward tension rather than a near-kiss during the locker scene and a polite knock before Ilos (I'm pretty sure, but not positive, that he just walks in).  So it's not really upsetting, but it just doesn't fit him.

The one option that I've never taken that I really need to some day is in response to the post-flirting "So do you make a habit of talking to all your crew like this?" saying "Yes."  Just… so awkward!  It'd be like the  end of the Scientist Salarian song but with weird biotic sex tension added to it!

That would be so awkward to say yes like that, but I think that I WOULD try that too brake the romance, so I could try romancing him in the third game.........
