Yeah, I won't be touching it, at least not for a good long while.  Would much rather play through ME for the umpteenth time once I play RtO and get all the achievments in DA:O.

Or to be clear, I thought he was a great guy but I didn't like his romance because I was tired of the "old girlfriend/wife" type beginnings (Carth, Sky), so I never romanced him at all. Apparently, that non consummated, "what happened" bit translates to romance because in Horizon, he was all angsty and apologetic and told me how the night (when nothing happened) meant everything to him. That said, after ME2, surrounded by new people. I actually missed the bugger. He was so comfortingly sane and normal. And easy on the eyes too. He will never replace Garrus as my best (platonic) buddy, but if he returns in ME3, Almighty Shepherd (yes that is my PC's name)will make up for the Ilos Raincheck.

I have nothing against Jacob- except he apparently makes my FemPc talk like a sexchatline operator. I have nothing against Thane, though I feel bad for him and I hope I can help cure him. I have nothing against Garrus- we already are BFFs. But bug not not, I consider Almighty "spoken for" and she is the onl Shep I play.

So I shall add my voice to the chorus- as a person who has only recently discovered this:

BRING BACK KAIDEN AS A JOINABLE COMPANION IN ME 3.

There. Good to have that off my chest.

Sometimes it's best when the romance sorta sideswipes you (in a good way) and more Kaidan love is always appreciated, whether it was a bug that brought it about or not ;-)

And yes, Kaidan appears to start an 'ex-girlfriend' trope, but it's really an "accidental murder is bad, be careful with what you're doing" story.    And yes, he was wonderfully sane and normal.  With sexy voice.  Thus most of this thread's complete inability to resist him.

I'm surprised that romance kind sideswipe us in the next game. I hope that doesn't happen to me, since I need a romance free Shepard to get the romance achievement. I feel so guilty, if I cheated on the man myself.

Lol to be fair I melted in the medbay 10mins in, before he'd even said more than 3 words to me!!!!!!!!!  So the inability to resist think started with the beloved half-smile, the sane, normal sexy voice part was just a bonus

On a not-Kaidan but Mass Effect related note, does anyone have any idea which squad members make good fire team leaders? I usually pick a loyal Miranda to lead the fire team, and that has worked for me so far, but are there other people that work as well without any casualties?

I agree.  I am and always will be a Carth fan girl, and I'm also a Kaidan fan girl, but they are not alike, other than being male and adorable.  

This is Carth Onasi. Since Sbarge did voice acting for both characters, many people just like to claim that they are one and the same. Completely untrue.
