Morning everyone.



I've read the start of a thread where people discussed the popularity of ME1 and 2 squad mates. There seem to be some general consensus that Liara/Ashley and Kaidan are unpopular, an impression I never got myself. Among the Li's Garrus seems to be very popular but I always thought that the large difference was because of the large male fan base he got. Personally i don't see Kaidan as unpopular, he seems to have a quite large fanbase. I think has more to do with many male players spreading their view of him as boring/whiny.



Just some thouhts in before lunch, What's everyones thoughts?

You know, taigin, I have no issue with Garrus I really don't but come on who is gonna pick him over Kaiden? (men, that's who) I mean I would pick him over Jacob, but that's a no brainer. I agree with you, I never got the impression that ME2 LI's are more popular, Thane aside, they are shallow affairs imo (soft spot for Thane here)

I adore Garrus, he's one of my favorite characters but he's more like an brother to Shep then a LI as far as I'm concerned.

There's no doubt Shep and Garrus would be close friends in ME2, he's one of her only links to the past and he's willing to stay be her side regardless of who Shep is working for.

Amazing....oh I do hope they bring details like that into ME3, but I doubt it. Though someone mentioned reading an interview in another thread about BW bringing back more RPG into ME3, I still doubt they will give him the proper dialogue to make for some raw emotional scene.

I would really like to see BioWare write him some more forceful, manly dialogue it would be really nice to see them have the man take the lead and make female Shepard feel wooed! Anyone else? I don't mean like Jacob, obviously, just more 'in charge', my Shepard wants to be swept of her feet in a passionate moment.

He's been into god knows what for the past years, he suffered and is dealing with it, I can see more growth in kaidan but he always was one with a strong opinion of his own and not afraid to speak his mind. Though politely and respectfully where Shepard's concerned, less with Udina for example I don't want to see him all badass and tough like Shepard is herself, I like how their characters complement eachother but I do want to see more of fierce Kaidan, someone who speaks up for her. We all know Kaidan always looked out for Shepard but with all the crap she's taking, it would be nice to have someone at her side for true support.

As far as the passion goes, yes, I would love to see a LI initiated moment. Shepard just always seems to be the one to make the first move. While they do come to her cabin, it seems Shepard is the first to touch, to hold, to kiss or whatever I am dying to see her being interrupted mid sentence in her cabin with a kiss.  "Kaidan, I ...." SMOOCH.....

I think that for those who choose Garrus (or any LI) over Kaidan - even if they were originally involved with Kaidan - it results from the way they see that character. Disregarding the physical sex appeal, Shep may find that they have a closer connection to one of the other LI than with Kaidan. It all really depends on what makes that character fire.

This was great too, I liked this perspective. I know some people want Shepard to be the only human Spectre, but seeing as she was dead for two years, and there's a better than even chance that Shepard doesn't get reinstated in the second game, it makes sense for the Council to give the position to another human who battled Saren. Thanks for the find!
