You have no idea how much I like that picture. The fact that it's Twitter Kaidan's user picture, when FemShep hasn't been too cruel to him, makes it all the easier to write her, too.

I love that pic too, just because that scene is sooooo cute.  Yeah, we're talking about a beacon from an ancient civilization that was destroyed right after uploading information directly into Shepard's brain, but look at Kaidan being all cute and shy and happy when she tells him it's okay and it wasn't his fault! 

I don't want to bash Jacob anymore.  I will never like his romance, but I feel bad for him now.  I know he's just a video game character, but he can't help that he was written badly...

Yesss. I love it. We need Kaidan in a fancy uniform in ME3. And back in his Alliance blues. And in a towel. And in Shepard's bedsheets. In Shepard's bed in general. Yes.

ETA: I feel sorry for Jacob too. They'd have been so much better off writing less characters better instead of spreading themselves around too thin.

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion, even though I still believe that most of those people saying such things are your average male gamer who would never jump over his shadow to actually play a femshep and romance him.

Argh - my babbling again. The point is, why do those ignorant bad-mouther have to come into OUR thread and post their none-counting opinion? There are threads that care about their opinion but why step into our domain? Blerg...

Ah well, here is what I have to say:

Trolls, much like small children, believe that they are the center of the universe, and their opinion is the only one that matters.  The fact that someone would come into a 975 page thread and think that they're going to change everyone's minds about supporting Kaidan is kind of like a child having a tantrum in the middle of the street during rush hour; good luck with that.

I do like it when people who are not necessarily Kaidan fans come into the thread just to talk about him, as long as they can be open minded and polite.  I can't really fault someone who has never played FemShep, or took the time to get to know Kaidan, for leaving him behind on Virmire, or thinking he's dull.  As long as people are open to the possibility that there's more to him than what they saw before, it's all good.

I don't know if you ever go on Digital Spy, but anyone posting garbage on the appreciation threads gets a very sharp slap on the wrist + suspension from commenting. Just saying.........................  (It can eventually lead to a permanent IP address ban too )

I wish this forum was more heavily moderated.  Although I didn't post much on the old Bioware forum, I really liked how intelligent and thoughtful most of the posters were in general back in the old days.  Or maybe I'm being nostalgic, and trolls and silly people are everywhere on the internet...

Heh - well I think it's good that there are measures against trolling - I think my main problem just is that I can't fathom the point of trolling in the first place. You like something - talk about it. You don't like something, go to a different thread. You want to ask critical question or have a discussion because you disagree about something is completely different story - and I see no problem with that.
As I said, I like discussions - even if they get a bit heated, as long as it stays civil, it's fine. But I suppose wondering about trolls is like fighting windmills...

I admin on Babycentre (+ own a couple of groups on there, one very busy) and the guidelines are fairly strict, that kind of hit and run behaviour will initially get you a bit of a private telling off from the CM's but you can get your account closed if you persist. Escapist not only puts people on probation (can still post) suspension (can't post for say a week) they also perma-ban and when any of these things happen everyone in the community can see not only the status of a cautioned member, but can click a link that will show you why. This serves a double purpose A) to shame people out of this behaviour and so that other members can see exactly what kind of thing can get them in trouble!
