If I'm not mistaken, it hints at the connection between the Protheans and the Collectors.  Since the Collectors came on the scene later, it's probably a newer model.

It couldn't be a newer mondel. Only Protheans had that level of tech. Perhaps the Reapers added some dormant alterations into their indoctrinated Prothean slaves and then when the Reapers came in they activaded the slaves and they burst into the Collector forms we see.

If I recall correctly, Vigil mentions that it took a looong time for the Reapers to wipe out the Protheans.  It's perfectly plausible that survivors who discovered the Collector transformation process could have refined their beacon technology.

Yeah, I hate it when people are having fun, too.

Here's my concern:

Bioware Developer: "1000 pages? Damn, those guys must really love Tali! Let's see what all this is about. Wait, what's all this? Obama crying? Bunnies? What the hell? They're not even talking about Tali in this thread!" 

Well, first of all, if they were reading the thread, they would see that those pictures were direct responses to a Tali-centric discussion.

Second of all, Bioware is not going to cut Tali from ME3 because a member of the development team checked out the threads and saw some pictures that weren't of Tali.  That's insane.

Yes, it would be insane, which is why I never said that they'd cut Tali from ME3 because of this thread.

My only real concern is that they shut down the thread and not allow another one to be brought up. That's all. But I guess if that hasn't happened yet, maybe I'm just being overly cautious
