Not every guy, but I bet there are very few that would turn down the opportunity if given it.  I certainly wouldn't.

The thing is, most men do not glue the ideas of "sex" and "relationship" together as strongly as most women do.  A man is often perfectly capable of wanting to have sex with someone that they either do not know, or wouldn't want a relationship with.  All that really is necessary is the physical attraction.  Once you look at it that way, the draw really becomes rather obvious; as long as it is sheerly "recreational", do you want to have one attractive naked woman to do things with, or two?

Clearly, once you're in a committed relationship the question is not that simple, but I'd estimate that most guys at least have thought about it.

That makes sense...Too much in fact.

A shame I couldn't come up with it on my own.

Sorry to hear that it horrifies you so very much, though I'm not too bothered. Honestly, I loved Tali's character, but all the night elf Tali's bugged me. Sure, they're decently attractive, but Tali is alien (alien enough to have three fingers and two toes) so I designed her accordingly.

Hrm. . .okay, I see your point. While I still think it's an odd (and a little scary) picture, I'm not going to argue that it's still nicely put together and extremely imagionative.

Maybe, it depends on how odd the features were.  I wasn't saying that she should have four nostrils, only that it was more along the lines of what I might prefer.  But some things can look very alien and very strikingly attractive at the same time.  I think that the weird, scar-like ridges on that particular face make her seem a little demonic and off-putting, but there could be equally odd-looking things that are attractive and wouldn't make Shepard pause.

Actually, I must object.  Thane is actually VERY human-looking. 
He has the sort of neck-crest, almost like a cobra's hood, the weird
black sclera in his eyes, and scales.  But his shape is really quite
human, especially in his face.  The cheekbones, the brow ridges, the
chin and jaw structure... all very human.  If you textured him with
skin instead of scales, his face would look almost normal.

I
agree about Garrus, though, and Tali won't go that route.  I think
Garrus works for females because females tend to weigh mates more
heavily on personality traits than appearances.

True about Thane, his face is very humanoid, but so is Tali's.  We already know that Tali has a human like nose, cheeks, and brow like Thane.  The things we don't know about are the mouth, ears, and "hair" if any.  I think Thane looks "alien enough" because even though he has the human face, he has the black eyes, neck crest, head ridges, and sutures on his face.  In the art book, bioware describes him as needing to be "a sleek-looking alien assassin, but also an attractive potential love interest."  

If Bioware kept that idea, I think they'd give Tali a fairly-human face, but make the rest of her head more alien like the Asari or the Drell.

in my life? They're doing a really bad job of picking personality over

Self-pity aside, I agree with what you've said here, and whatever Tali does look like, I'm inclined to believe it'll be at least close to human in design.
