Sort of sucks for the players that want female/female relationships, no?  "Oh, sure, we gave you that option in the first game, but we're pulling it in the second one.  Don't worry, everyone on the internet says we'll bring it back for the third game!"  That's garbage.  And people that want male/male relationships have been out in the cold since the beginning.

You guys have it good. I've never been able to play as myself (pretty much) in a game before. When I realized my Shepard could be a gay female protagonist I had a smile from ear to ear. I even made her look sorta like me, which incidentally looks kinda like the default fem shepard, but a lot more human imo.

In most games, I usually play myself in most of my playthroughs... But Bioware's games are the only ones that I feel the character is actually mine, and not just some guy who makes similar choices. If that makes sense...

Probably because Male shep is modeled after someone, and femshep isn't

I don't like default male Shepard at all.  The only reason he's iconic is because they plaster him on all the promotional materials (which is odd for a game that prides itself on being a deeply individual experience for each player).

Probably because Male shep is modeled after someone, and femshep isn't

I'd also like to add that it seems to be really easy to make an attractive female Shepard, though not so for male. Regardless, it's easy to make a pretty girl but I think making a convincingly tough girl is hard to do...
