I think you're making some very big assumptions here, Terrorfex.  For all we know Jake is actually a white dwarf, in which case the Chandrasekhar limit would be the appropriate yardstick.

Oh I can guess what you'd do, as would most in the situation.  But the truly brilliant minds, the non-suckers, would keep studying, studying, studying.  And they'd get laughed at behind their back when the girl tells all her friends that the boy would rather study his science text instead of get laid.

But 30 years down the line, when the young man has grown into full fledged Mad Scientist and has been able to clone himself an entire harem of copies of that young woman, who will be laughing then, I ask you?
