Actualy guys - if you pay attention to the background voices you can hear that on Illium they are doing genetical terapies for Quarians and Volus who don't want to live in the Envo suit like they do. However I could only imagine how expensive, long term and painfull treatmet that would be (to Volus at least... but Quarians probobly too).

unfortunately the success rate is 40%.

I don't want to know what happens to the other 60%. Would never take that risk.

I can describe you how it would look in the Volus case.
-Take a potato
-Draw the potato a Volus face - we want this to be a legit experiment
-Put the Volus potato in a microvawe
-Keep it in there untill it explode

and then space vikings with lazer teeth come out of f-ing nowhere and start blowing everything up! and real shepard uses the distraction to shank clone shepard before taking them all down and meeting with the spaceviking leader who looks vaugely like Samuel L Jackson but he's a midget and shepards like "There will be no space vikiningon MY watch!" and he hits them with the blackstorm at point blank range the entire ship explodes and somehow hurles him and the LI to an uncharted planet where they live out thier lives in seclusion and awesomeness!

until his REAL FATHER shows up!

If so, this would bring rather interesting options into ME3. We'd have the Paragon / Neutral / Renegade response for Shepard:

1)Tali I want us to have children, I'll take the procedure and he will be Quarian, I'll live with your people and we'll bring him up like any other Quarian child, only this child will have a world that he an call his own.

2) Its too dangerous for either of us, we'll adopt. I am sure we'll work something out.

3)Hell ya I am going to stay Human, and our child should be human. Take the Procedure Tali. You know you want this.

That is what I am wondering, if it could happen. I mean hypothectically, they could say find the "reaper device" used to "repurpose" the Proteans and use that tech. I know its *almost* impossible since this would mean that either Shepard or Tali has to get a whole new set of organs, blood and other things that would make one human / Quarian. But that has never stopped Sci-Fi writers coming up with plausible explanations even if it means suspending what we know to be "true" today. I mean, Its only what, 100 years ago that if you told anyone you can get from San Franciso to Hong Kong in a matter of hours, they'd put you in an asylum.

it depends if  humans have different organs and other it might  just be their Dna

It makes sense to keep her alive if you are following either paragon or renegade.

Paragon = Well I'm just a nice guy.
Renegade = I want allies that OWE me!

You could never do it by altering your DNA, for SO many reasons. 

It isn't just the protein chirality that makes it not work, or even having the correct number of chromosomes.  It is everything about how we are built.  Even if we could flip every protein in their body around to opposite chirality it would not be viable.  For instance, sperm uses a specific enzyme to penetrate the protective "shell" of a human oocyte, an enzyme that is coded for somewhere deep in our genetic structure.  It is also quite possibly an enzyme that is important in other bodily functions as well.  But even if Quarian women had oocytes, it is highly unlikely that they would use the exact same protein for it.   Further, changing your DNA would almost certainly set off a set of chain reactions, quite possibly fatal, because you can no longer code for the proteins that you need to maintain your own body (and neither could any child produced from that DNA).

It is possible, perhaps, that you could purposely alter some male Quarian DNA to produce facial features that looked like Shepard's.  However, there are two caveats:
1) This assumes the ability to not only predict what someone will look like based ONLY on genetic sequence, but also the ability to "design" it.  Simply copying sections from Shepard's DNA and changing chirality wouldn't work because Shepard's DNA would code for proteins that are simply different and incompatible with the ones that Quarian DNA is coding for.
2) As a consequence of number 1, the child would in no way be Shepard's "biological" child.  They would share no DNA with Shepard.  This would simply be a child that was biologically engineered, through great expense, to look kind of like Shepard.
