Tali. Why would I care about 2000 people I don't know? And I'm sure Tali is going to save more than 2000 lives after you save her.

Paragon Shepard would choose colony of 2000. Needs of the many. Also. Imagine Tali could not live with guilt. Very selfless woman.

Neutral Shepard would choose Tali if romancing. Or colony of 2000 if not romancing.

Renegade Shepard would choose colony of 2000. Tali is alien. Renegade Shepard put human lives first. If colony of 2000 were Salarian. Would still choose colony of 2000. Based on mission success.

I'm pretty sure ME was released before Starcraft II was even announced. Which means that Quarians were around before this concept art was made/released.

What if you had to choose between saving a colony of the humans or the one of quarians (if they had built one).

Remind that you aren't a quarian yourself and even if you did save the quarian colony, there is no guarentee that you could live among them. The danger you bring to the fleet beeing human etc.
If you did so you also humanity would feel betrayed 'cause you choose another race over your own. So you could hardly go back there and beg for understanding where there is not neccesary any.

Other way round, saving the human colony and letting down the quarian one, what about Tali. What would she think. What about the other quarians. Seeing you beeing in a relationship with one of them, having serious plans and then such an action. Maybe Tali would get involved in that aswell, just like we saw in her trial about the geth parts. Also, Tali is loyal to her fleet and would do anything for her people.

So, what to do, difficult imo. Especially when loving an individual like Tali where rational thinking is as hard as it could be.

I think you would have to save the quarian one due to it being by far more important to them. Especially as they have no home world (even if they did at this point they have not many planets to call their own). Humans have loads and generally are high up in the galaxy.

The Protoss have been around on the internet since 1998?

I know, but he said that it's one of the new main characters, so I thought this was a new unit from SCII. Sorry if that's wrong, I don't know anything about Starcraft

Even with all the unknown factors involved when making that decision. You don't know if you would be fully accepted and imigrated in the quarian race. And not beeing able to go back to humanity to spent your life there would leave you completely on your own. This is, sad as it is, not really a question of what you like
