K here it goes:
ON-TOPIC:
When did you first notice and start to like Tali?
I can't really remember, but for some reason I ran a google search for "Mass Effect Tali"and on the top it found a blog from the original site titled "Tali not a romance option :(" so I was like "Whaat she's got no face", this was after only one ME1 playthrough, so I played again and talked to Tali fully and BOOM all a sudden I didn't want nothin to do with Ashley and Liara
Anyone else?
Can't remember exactly, but it didn't take too long. I'm pretty sure it happed in steps: the first thing I liked was her suit which I thought was very origional and, frankly, awesome looking. Next when I heard her talk I fell in love with her voice. (There are certian accents that make me melt like manly, MANLY butter) after that the love grew from hearing her talk about her life. Tali is such a tragic figure because she is the rarest of all things: an honestly good person, and it's because of this unforgivable sin that the world will constantly try to beat her down and break her spirit.
Depending on how you play Shepard, you can be the first really good thing to happen in her life.
It's like. . .neither Ashley or Liara really need you, but Tali. . .well. . .I think she'd follow you into the depths of Hell.
She is willing to worth with a Geth because of you, after all.

It's safe to say, this image is pretty much the greatest artistic achievement in all of history.

When I first played ME1 and I got the mission to rescue her from Fist's men.
"Damn, I got like 3 minutes to get to this lady, I better hurry"
"HOLY !$#! WHAT A BODY"
(On Normandy) "Damn this girl is cute as hell. Her whole race is pretty interesting too. Forget that human chick, I want this to be my LI"
Then I proceeded to talk to her after every mission until I learned she wasn't a romance option

What's your question? How to find time to write?
This is just my opinion, your experience may vary: I try not to hold myself to a deadline. Speed can be the enemy of quality. I'd rather put out a good product than post something every day.
As for finding time? I can't help you: you know how you spend your time and you have to figure out what activity to curtail or replace.

Yes. People have had. . .very strong reactions to that.
Id like to see those.
I don't think it would be polite to quote anyone, but I can say that I've had several people say they cried (which makes me feel bad and flattered at the same time, if they're being serious that is) and one guy literally did curse my name, but it was in the nicest was possible.
Most of the reviews (all. . .13 or so :innocent:) can be found in the reviews section of the FF in my link. If you are really interested, that is.
Wow got to read these!

Oh! What we had here was a failure to communicate.

well i agree with the ideology of bros before hoes cause if it was just sex with a girl. (as much as i love sex i get enough i dont need it 24 hours a day) i wouldnt have much of a problem turning down a girl to help a friend however if it was love involved things would be different

Aww noone wants story-time they would rather spew off-topic nonsense? I know this is old news and you guys have probably all talked about how you first met Tali a dozen times over but I'm relatively new here!
I always thought Tali was adorable in the first game, but she didn't get a ton of screen time and wasn't a romance option. Plus, I also adored Liara in ME1 and was happy with her romance.
I didn't read a single spoiler for ME2, so I had no idea what the romance options would be. After I ran into Liara on Illium, I was thoroughly disgusted by how she had changed, and I got back on the Normandy totally bummed, as Jack wasn't appealing at all and Miranda still hadn't opened up to Shepard at that point in the game. I went to go recruit Tali not feeling particularly thrilled with any of the romance options. When I played Tali's "I wish Shepard was here" diary I was like "aw, that's so sweet!," but I still figured she wouldn't be a romance option because she hadn't been in the first one. After the mission, Yeoman Chambers clued Shepard in and the rest is history.

I completely avoided all ME2 media, so I had no idea she was a LI until I heard Kelly talk about Tali, and then finally confirmed when I talked to Tali after her trial.
I was convinced they were going to show her face in the romance scene though, so when that didn't happen, it was a pretty big FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-- moment for me.

Read your story again: you're a damn good writer. I'm a writer myself and I really don't like to read because I don't like the way most other people write, but you have a really good style: it pulls you in. It makes me remember when I got Tali killed the first time...and makes me feel 10 times worse about it, lol.
The good thing about that is there is always the "load" option, but I think the scarier thing is the unknown future. We really don't know what Bioware is going to do to Tali in ME 3. They may indeed decide to do something like this and kill her off to make it more "dramatic." Reading this evokes a fear that Tali may actually die permanently in ME 3, but stirs me to want to protect her. If anything, I'm really anxious to see how ME 3 plays out!
