Have you ever seen the movie Jay and Silent Bob strike back?  Teenagers are saying stupid stuff like they're gay on the internet; at the end of the movie they get a lot of money, and they spend most of it buying plane tickets to all parts of the U.S., knocking on the kids' doors, and then beating the sh*t out of them, lol

Anyway, off topic but that's what it reminded me of

Maybe Shepard was all serious at the moment, but that's what I said the first time I heard it, lol

I feel like the writing for Shepard was always a little too stiff, more so if you play Paragon. I always apreciated the times when Shepard could crack a joke or, you know, act like he had emotions.
Best part was after recruting Archangel  when Garrus asks how bad his injurys are and Shepard replys:
"Hell Garrus, you were always ugly. Slap some face paint on that and no one will ever know the difference."

It's a little off topic, but I never did care for Male Shepard's voice acting. It sounds so phoned in at time, even more so if compaired to female Shepards.

Huh, I'm the opposite.  I feel like female Shepard's voice acting is all over the place and often doesn't fit the situation.  Male Shepard's is great, if you ask me.

And yes, "hell, Garrus, you were always ugly" was fantastic.

I kind of understand what they're trying to do with FemShep, but she's a little too butch for me.  I mean, like Major Kusanagi butch.

And yeah, the "Garrus you were always ugly" is a perfect best-friends comment.

I think the pinnacle of Meer's acting in ME2 was his exceptionally done "Do your research quickly Miss vas Normandy, captain's orders"

What if Liz knew about EVERYTHING? The love, the hate, I wonder if her VA or anything related to Tali would be changed because of that, cuz we all changed our opinions of a lot of things after joining this site and reading all this crazy stuff.

Glad I'm strong-willed like Tali

You know, I have a slight (and largely unsupported) theory that Liz may not be all be that "into" Tali. It may sound crazy, but it's just the hunch I get from when I saw her facebook. She has like, one picture of Tali on there, and it's probably the worst common image of her, back from ME1. I just get the impression if she were more "into" Tali she'd have a few more, and nicer, images.

Eh, it doesn't matter.  She does a great job and doesn't halfass it, so her actual opinion of the character are irrelevant, as far as I'm concerned.

I love it. It may have been true for ME1, but Mark Meer (MaleShep) does 10x as good in ME2. There should always be more "fun" moments like Garrus' recruit mission, but that's what Joker is for.  And Meer's romance dialogue is incredible so Idk where you're coming from. VA is reeeal difficult so unless you're gunna get a big-time actor like Martin Sheen you gotta appreciate the B-list actors especially Liz who's not on any lists :pinched:

Gotta disagee on one point:  "It's okay, come here." was delivered in a remarkably creepy fashion.

People keep saying Hale is better because she puts more "emotion" into her lines, but emotions don't = good acting.  They don't realize that these actors started with a script and no image of the character: they had to create an image in their head how Shepard would react to these scenarios.  It's two different actors' opinions on the same script: no one is better, they're just different because the actors interpreted the script differently.  There's been lots of Batmans throughout the years of TV shows and movies, and none of them act remotely the same.

Yeah, I agree completely. It really doesn't matter to me what her thoughts on her work are. She does a terrific job at her voice acting, that's all that matters. :)

lol you're like me you develop all these "hunches" based on pretty much nothing cuz you don't want to "be blind" to anything. It does bother me that she doesn't have a ME background or anything, but when it comes to the VA, she's simply The Bess.

I also developed a hunch that Liz is a naturally happy person because her smile seems "natural". I wonder how much body language a deaf person pays attention to...I'll bet they make great psychologists. Anyways uhh what was I saying?

I had this idea once, of getting the "come here" from the Tali hug, and replacing the "come here" in the romance scene with it. It might work. :P

I'm not saying he was terrible, but there were times that he sounded extrememly uninterested.
He does have the perfect voice for heroic speeches or being intimidating.

Tali is the most well-known character she has played so far, and who she is most-likely to be known for.  A lot of actors don't want to become associated with a certain character and typecasted.  I'm sure Daniel Radcliffe can't go anywhere without people yelling "Hey, it's Harry Potter!" rather than "Hey, it's Daniel!"  I can tell she liked the character because she put all her emotion into the dialogue, but I'm sure she does a variety of roles and doesn't want to advertise any particular one.

No matter how it worked out, it at least wouldn't sound like it was trying to entice her into a van with the promise of candy.

Actually, her response to the "I'm willing to wait" option is adroable, too.  Something along the lines of "If I figure something out, I'll let you know... I promise."

My favorite is: "What could I possibly be suggesting? I mean, a young woman gets saved by a dashing commander who lets her join his crew and then goes off to save the galaxy? How could she possibly develop any kind of interest in him?"
