That's a very good point. Typecasting has doomed many a acting career.

I'm not sure how much work there is for someone typecast as "the space gypsy."

Exactly.  She's not a very well-known actress and wants to get her name out right now.  If producers think that's all she can play, she won't get very far.

Oh yeah, her "Right...yes, definitely" line was insane. Despite all her cuteness, that "Definitely" was the most sensual sounding "definitely" I've ever heard.

Another line I think probably isn't too well known, is if you choose the "neutral" option in that same dialog wheel. You tell her that you'll wait until she's done her research, and she says "I'll let you know, I promise"

There was a *lot* of emotion in the way she said "I promise"

I think the pinnacle of Meer's acting in ME2 was his exceptionally done "Do your research quickly Miss vas Normandy, captain's orders"

I mentioned this yesterday: my favorite Tali line right after that is when she responds with "Right...yes, definitely."  Liz really nailed that one!

My favorite is: "What could I possibly be suggesting? I mean, a young woman gets saved by a dashing commander who lets her join his crew and then goes off to save the galaxy? How could she possibly develop any kind of interest in him?"

Yeah, that was one of my favorite lines, too.
Next playthough I'm making savepoints before every Tali conversation so I can go back and re-live the cute-ness.

Yeah, in fact I retract my previous hunch. My conclusion felt a little weird to even myself, since she really did such a good job with the voice acting, and her avoiding a typecast just seems like the perfect explanation for my previously noted observation.

Wow, this is quite... Amazing!:o Over 1300 pages about Tali... Didn't know she had become such a popular character. My Male-Shep didn't have any romance in the first ME, thanks to non-romanceable Tali:(... Glad they fixed that one in ME2.

Anyways, just came to say; you guys have my support:police:

I really wonder how these voice actors do it, because I've been in acting classes and plays and I know it's hard to hit those emotions with realism sometimes.  Most of the time, the voice actors aren't even interacting with the other actors: they read and record the lines by themselves, so they have to imagine they are having a conversation with the other person.  And yet it still manages to work.

That entire conversation with Tali was just heart-melting. Personally, I prefer it over any other conversation with Tali, the bedroom conversation included.  I won't lie: I have a save right before that conversation and I go back and play it frequently, lol

Edit:  I already did the savepoint thing Jake, haha

lol I have them all on each playthrough. I'm gunna further my previous statement and say Meer and Liz did SUCH a good job with the romance dialogue that I'm not convinced Meer and Sroka aren't in love irl :wizard::D

Joking but seriously which romance dialogue is better? Any1?

Jack's isn't bad, from what I've seen.  And then there's Garrus.  But we're talking about second place here anyway.

Well, I imagine that one of the advantages of voice acting (over doing a play, for example) is that you get the benefit of redoing a line over and over until it comes out just right. :)

I haven't played a femshep yet, so I don't know how those romances are, but I can say without any bias that Tali's romance dialogue is BY FAR the best.  Well-written, well-acted, well-rendered: everything just works really well.

Some people are just really good at becoming a character. Whatever it is she's doing, it's working perfectly.

It's Hercules, from the hilarious and excellent Marvel comic, The Incredible Hercules.

I agree, but Thane's is very good as well, I've seen most of his dialogue.

Yeah but the more you say that line, the more unnatural it's gunna feel to the VA. Especially in sci-fi, with all the techno-babble, it's one of those things where you think you'd be a great VA, then you'd go in studio and be so nervous you can't even pull off the first line.
