I don't have a "usual" per se.. First playthrough on Xbox I did Human noble, on my PC I did dwarf casteless, and now I'm redoing my human noble on PC... :happy:

Human Noble is alright, but I couldn't ever make a human face I really liked.

I also couldn't be a dwarf for aesthic reasons
And I hate the Dalish

So City Elf full time for me.

The city elf origin is one of the 2 best in the whole game, I'd say, the other one being the mage.

And my human mage had a face of classical charm and grandeur. I found the choice of beards in human rather pleasant, of course I could only pick the longest

That's one thing I miss from Mass Effect, good beard choices for Shepard, in fact a notable lack of bearded characters in the whole game. Kind of sad  Although except for the lack of beard, I am quite proud of my Shepard's looks. I haven't seen anyone like him, or as paragonlike for that matter.

What about the rest of you people, you use the default Shepard? Or you customize your face?

It wasn't just hair or lack there of. It was chin, cheek bones, facial structure, nose shape, etc. I could never get one to match my preference.

I have some of the same complaints for ME. All the noses suck, and eyebrow color range is awful.

I generally try to get through the alienage part as fast as I can, so no... such a sad place

For my "Main" Shepard (read: Talimancing) I always go with defeault Shepard. It seems more canon to me, even though I know there isn't supposed to be a "canon" Shep. But he's a ruggedly handsome dude, so why not? I also always make him a straight up soldier. No tech or bio/magic crap. Leave that to the people without testes or aliens I say. =P

Vanguard is true shepard.
1. Biotics make you cooler.
2. Vanguards are in your face ass kickers. Very much fits shepard to be an in your face ass kicker.

Best of both worlds. Hardcore fighter and you can entertain children at parties.

Repeat what you said about my testes and you may find yourself flying uncontrolably backwards, getting pumped full of flaming shotgun shells mister

Tech is better suited for girls and aliens, but biotics is THE manly sport

The default Shepard has too little hair on the back of his neck, thus seeming far too brutish and soldierlike for my tastes. I prefer a charismatic, kind and handsome face I put a great deal of effort and time to creating.

True story, due to hitstun vanguard would beat every other class in the game due to the fact Charge can be activated through during the half a second window that you are invulnerable to the next hitstun.

Vanguards are immune to being swarmed by Husks

Thus a vanguard would charge a soldier/infi/sent/engine/adept,staggering them
then melee spam keeping the other one locked in stagger and win

lol.  Vanguard is a sweet class, especially in ME2.  But I still prefer Soldier.  Can kick butt at any range without moving.  Just switch weapons and bring the pain.  No breaking a sweat.

Seconded. Vanguard is the most capable and heroic class IMO. Pure soldier is far too limited, hardly every obstacle can be removed by hitting it with a bigger gun.
A bigger force blast, now, that's how it should be done

Also @Jake, I rather like your character. Don't care for artificial baldness, but the goatee is a step in the right direction and Lorne definitely looked far dumber. Yours looks like a jolly, enjoyable fellow. You know, the type who'll try to sleep with just about every woman he meets
As an aside, I did the human noble origin with a female PC, and I still got Iona to open the door. Rather sad, I was also hoping to be able to protect her

Well he's a chrome dome and has a beard, two things I avoid in chrs I play(except in KOTOR, all those faces sucked so I went with the asian guy with the horrible goatee) but he looks human and well formed.
