One thing I don't think they will not keep current characters out of me3 (unless they died shame on you) the second game was about building up another team and we all know the second part of a trilogy always introduces new allies etc (look at starwars/startrek etc) so I know for a fact that they will have them all in me3. Also Bioware loves possible happy endings... and bioware always record more dialouge options than they will ever need.cannedcream wrote...

Okay everyone, don't know if this has been discussed in here yet but I was just thinking about the causes Bioware may have for not putting Tali in ME3 or at least not making her romance-able and the only thing I can come up with is this:
Normally when Bioware puts in the romance options they have to record at least 2 different dialogue trees. One involving the romance and the other just friendly (for those who chose a different option or have a female Shepard). If they were to give Tali another go in number 3 and allow you to continue that relationship to a higher level than they would basically have to record 3 completely different dialogue trees. One for friendship, one for first time romance (people just playing ME3 and not continuing from 2) and one for continued romance. That's a lot of dialogue to give to a character and would require quite a bit more work to put it into the game.
The solution I thought of for this for Tali to only be available to romance (or possibly recruit at all) if you imported your character from ME2 and you romanced tali in that play-through. If that happened they would still only need to record 2 dialogue trees and if she's only recruitable at all if you romanced her then only one line of dialogue would be needed. This would also help a lot with the next problem.
I find it very hard to believe that Bioware would want to show favoritism toward any character no matter how large the fan base. If ONLY Tali were brought into ME3 than every fan of every other romance option would have one big collective "WTF???". So it seems to me they either have to bring all the romance options back or none. This kind of relates back to the first problem with the extra dialogue. If they bring back ALL the romances then that is a ridiculously impossible amount of dialogue and programming to do. Its basically the problem with bringing Tali back but times six. Not to mention the fact that Bioware seems to love adding new characters to the roster, so there's 4 more new romances to deal with. So I thought of 4 possible solutions to the problem.
A) Only having one squad member from ME2 recuite-able and who that person will be is determined by your save and is your romance from 2.Same as A but this time with no NEW romance options to make development easier C) No new characters at all and the cast of ME3 being the combined cast of ME1 and 2 or just the cast of ME2. This would make it so that all dialogue would be continuing relationships from ME2 rather than starting new ones, making a continued romance with Tali the same as the rest of the crew's continuations. And finally the one no one really wants but would be the easiest and at least be something D) Tali has a cameo like Liara but much deeper with her and Shepard being able to continue the ralationship for just a single quest into a higher level. This would prevent you from hooking up with new squad members though. Once again these "cameo romance quests" would have to be for all romances in ME2 but only available to people who import the romance in from last game. Right now I see C and D being the most likely to happen considering they are the most realistic. And yeah it would suck to get D but at least it gives Tali and Shepard a chance for continued romance and wouldn't be too hard to put in the game.
Well that's it. Sorry again for the EXTREMELY long post but I just wanted to put this up there so people would have some options to imagine and push for rather than just hoping for Tali in ME3 and not ever thinking of options for it. Also this is partially a MESSAGE TO THE DEVELOPERS. I know I don't really know anything about how creating video games works but Im just doing my best to help you guys and to give more of a chance to Tali appearing in ME3. Thanks for your time if you read this and if you didn't I completely understand.
Your points are very well thought out and valid.

Sun's size doesn't matter no, but UV and other radiation that is allowed to penetrate the atmosphere does, and does directly affect the protection the skin would develop. As well as reaction to certain chemicals in the air, depending on exactly what there was.. There's no real way to predict how they'll look with how many variables there are int he way life evolves.

We are talking about many generations around 300 years here, not a childhood, skin pigmentation levels fall over generations as there is no supply for children.
Thromun wrote...
That whole "No sunlight = pale skin" theory doesn't even make sense for humans and we don't even know if quarian skin is like human skin and can adapt its pigmentation.
True, thus the probably/maybe that can be used.
Thromun wrote...
Polar bears live in an area where sun rays are quite rare, and in fact they have completly black skin to absorb that little sunlight that they get access to. Not getting a lot of sunlight does in no way equal a pale skin pigmentation.
True, but that is an extreme case, we can safely assume that most earth mammals will congregate at more hospitable areas, given the choice. And the same route usually takes course from there.
As said before, I'm not saying my ideas are concrete, they are speculation, like everything here.
But they are speculation with some rational basis to support them, and that is better than most.
