I noticed that the finger counts were off, but I think that was a modelling oversight.

Also, there's flesh on the bones still, so they should be fairly fresh.

Like the faces underneath the masks on the in-game models; It's a placeholder.

if you look at the various ones around the area the finger/ toe count is off one looks like it has 4 on one hand and 5 on the other. plus whatever those varren did to de-suit and skeletize those quarians must've sucked pretty hard.

the toes are interesting yes, but the leg structure is completely wrong for a quarian. and even if this were a quarian skeleton it doesnt really help. it is extremely difficult to get any idea of what a face looks like from a skull.

That's could very well be it, but the fact that they felt comfortable enough to use a human skeleton is pretty reassuring.

i only liked it if i got him to shoot himself. i thought it made his character better. then when i heard about how he acts in revelation it broke my view of him so i haven't read it yet.

See now thats whaere, your wrong... with a skull you can clarify what features a quarian has such as, external years(like ours) or holes for ears (like fish/frogs), you can also use it to figure out the shape of their mouth, jaw and nose is from their skull, allowing you to make furthur acurate pictures if you follow the skull correctly... but in short you can doo alot with a skull
