I played as a vanguard, but the lack of long range options and the fact that charge isnt alway available (ie if enemies are on ledges or other places that are not pathable such as the collector ship situation) did make some situation more difficult. Still charge was alota fun. I might choose a soldier or and infiltrator for better ranged options or the sentinel for the extra servivablitly.

I was going to start a playthrough on insanity, but, I'm not sure what class to use.
Suggestions?

I got ME1 when it came out and used Infiltrator, when I got ME2 I just stuck with that. I think I've heard people say that Engineer is a good choice. But, I'm not sure right now.Yionel wrote...

I was playing the game today on Insanity difficulty setting, and the final fight on Haestrom was just so difficult. I was killed by that damned Collossus several times, a few times from stray Geth troopers and the sunlight did not help. I had Garrus with me (just like old times) and Grunt, but it was still a pain.
"You're going to have to earn her." is what my friend said while he was watching.
And I did.
I suggest running up the ramp on the right side and using the wall a the top for cover to take out all the geth then run down and flank the collossus from the left. Use the box at the top of the left ramp to take cover from the colossus and focus on the spawning geth while your squadies hide on the ramp and use powers on the colossus
Wait for the Collector ship, with the scion that floats in the background and 1 shots both you squadies at once while your stuck on a 4 foot platform w/ no where to dodge while trying to deal w/ Harbringer at the same time. That was brutal.
The only hard part of insanity. Everything else can be beaten by just being patient.
I found taking cover on the outside nearest to the scion made it not target me at all, and still gave me cover from the collectors.
Suggestions?
Soldier is a solide choice if you know what your doing
some class are really gimped on Insanity tho

Infiltrator was the one I used, cloak is a life saver if you suddenly get hit in the back. It's a bit more flexible than the other classes when it comes to making a mistake since you go invisible as soon as things get bad you move to the other side of the arena then pop medi-gel.
Also, Widow + Carnifex = dead Scions in record time.
Soldier looked good too, max adrenaline for the damage reduction boost and take either geth shields or Armour piercing ammo(My preference). You'll have enough guns that ammo won't be a problem. I insist on the widow over the Revenant on insanity though.

I heard its limited since your drone HP dont scale with the difficulty and keeps getting owned

Returned. Just performing study on Harbinger control module.
Will not be able to study now, though.
Perhaps begin work on quarian immune system?
Yes. Yes. Good brain activity.
Name is Himmelstor. May also call me "Doctor" or "Doc" as others do.

That's a good point. I'll probably stick with Infiltrator or try Soldier out. Maybe even try Engineer.Yionel wrote...

Drone dying is a good thing if it's the explosive one. I stick with attack drone though, Engineer specced mechanic can resummon the drone every 3 seconds (compare that to incinerate at a whooping 6) and it's a hell of a weapon. It'll also bug out harbringers and scions preventing them from range spamming you.
Engineer is very effective on insane.

Ah yes I've seen that. Funny you should mention a Pharoah -- the first time I saw that picture it made me think of Egyptian artwork as well. I don't think that is official, I believe it is a creation from a forum for 3D modeling. That said, I saw some Bioware alien concept drawings, and one of them looked pretty similar in proportion, with the elongated skull, but it didn't have ear lobes, and with larger eyes and softer, rounder features.NuclearBuddha wrote...

I hope this isn't too long to post on the thread. Basically, I recently played ME1, and I remember buying a Spectre shotgun for Tali. While giving it to her was just a matter of opening the inventory screen and selecting it for her, I like to imagine that Shepard giving it to her was a bit more special, like this:
-----
Back on the Normandy SR1, not long before catching up to Saren on Ilos.
“Hey Shepard, Adams told me that you wanted to see me?” Tali said, entering Shepard’s quarters.
“Ah, there you are Tali. Yeah, I wanted to talk to you” Shepard replied, standing up from his desk. “You like shotguns don’t you? I ask since I notice you tend to favor them on missions.”
“Yeah, they work well for me. I usually need to be pretty close to enemies to overheat their weapons and sabotage their shields, so shotguns work well” Tali replied. “And they’re a lot of fun to shoot” she added, in a playful tone.
“Well, that’s why I called you up. Take a look at this shotgun, let me know what you think.” Shepard says as he turns around and picks up an unusual looking shotgun from his desk, and hands it to Tali.
“Wow Shepard, this looks amazing. I’ve never see a mass accelerator like this on a shotgun. This thing must be incredibly powerful” she says astonished, looking it over. She notices ‘HMWSG’ inscribed on its side. “I have never heard of this model”
“That’s because this is a prototype line of weapons. They’re not in any kind of mass production, and they’re available only to Spectres.” Shepard responded, proudly.
“Keelah, Shepard, I envy you. You’re going to do some serious damage with this.” Tali says, and attempts to hand the shotgun back to Shepard. He doesn’t take it. Instead, he gently pushes it back towards Tali.
“I’m not, but you are. It’s yours, Tali.” He says, smiling.
“What? Shepard I can’t accept…are you sure you want me to—just how much did this cost?” Tali asks, surprised and somewhat confused by the sudden and incredible gift.
“Don’t worry about it, Tali. You’ve earned it. You’ve been an important part of my mission against Saren, and I wanted to show I appreciate all you’ve done."
“Thank you, Shepard. It means a lot to me to hear that” she replied. She wanted so much to just pounce on him and hug him tightly, but she knew better; it would not be appropriate. She had already convinced herself to forget about ever being more than just a friend and a crew member to Shepard. Despite how well he has treated her, how could he ever see past her mask; past her suit?

The concept art is here.
The face I was talking about was the 2nd row from the top, 2nd from the right. She has the slightly elongated neck that the Quarians appear to have also. The girl 2nd in from the left and 2nd row from the bottom is also a possibility (the one who is smoking), and she has many of the same features. This is also concept work -- it has, in all probability, been refined a bit even if one of these does turn out to be Quarian (which it may not).
In any case, if it is one of those faces it is pretty easy to imagine one of them being very lovely, even if they are quite clearly not human.

On insanity, Drones are bait.
They distract the big boys while my reave takes out their shield and allow me to line up the perfect head shot with the Widow.
All the more reason toTali. She pops out those things like no tomorrow and deals with the melee crap like Husks.
That's where Garrus comes in handy. AP ammo bursts on Melee stuff and most things get wiped pretty fast.
