I hope this isn't too long to post on the thread. Basically, I recently played ME1, and I remember buying a Spectre shotgun for Tali. While giving it to her was just a matter of opening the inventory screen and selecting it for her, I like to imagine that Shepard giving it to her was a bit more special, like this:

 Back on the Normandy SR1, not long before catching up to Saren on Ilos.

“Hey Shepard, Adams told me that you wanted to see me?” Tali said, entering Shepard’s quarters.

“Ah, there you are Tali. Yeah, I wanted to talk to you” Shepard replied, standing up from his desk. “You like shotguns don’t you? I ask since I notice you tend to favor them on missions.”

“Yeah, they work well for me. I usually need to be pretty close to enemies to overheat their weapons and sabotage their shields, so shotguns work well” Tali replied. “And they’re a lot of fun to shoot” she added, in a playful tone.

“Well, that’s why I called you up. Take a look at this shotgun, let me know what you think.” Shepard says as he turns around and picks up an unusual looking shotgun from his desk, and hands it to Tali.

“Wow Shepard, this looks amazing. I’ve never see a mass accelerator like this on a shotgun. This thing must be incredibly powerful” she says astonished, looking it over. She notices ‘HMWSG’ inscribed on its side. “I have never heard of this model”

“That’s because this is a prototype line of weapons. They’re not in any kind of mass production, and they’re available only to Spectres.” Shepard responded, proudly.

“Keelah, Shepard, I envy you. You’re going to do some serious damage with this.” Tali says, and attempts to hand the shotgun back to Shepard. He doesn’t take it. Instead, he gently pushes it back towards Tali.

“I’m not, but you are. It’s yours, Tali.” He says, smiling.

“What? Shepard I can’t accept…are you sure you want me to—just how much did this cost?” Tali asks, surprised and somewhat confused by the sudden and incredible gift.

“Don’t worry about it, Tali. You’ve earned it. You’ve been an important part of my mission against Saren, and I wanted to show I appreciate all you’ve done."

“Thank you, Shepard. It means a lot to me to hear that” she replied. She wanted so much to just pounce on him and hug him tightly, but she knew better; it would not be appropriate. She had already convinced herself to forget about ever being more than just a friend and a crew member to Shepard. Despite how well he has treated her, how could he ever see past her mask; past her suit?

PS: BTW, you guys do realize that this thread is about several hours away from being locked again right? (assuming Mr Sten Woo is more vigilant this time)

Ah yes, "Stanley Woo" the bioware dev who allegedly locked the last Tali threads. We have dismissed these claims.

The first one you mention is the one that seems to be the one we're all familiar with for Tali. Nose, eyes and shape anyway. That one pic earlier of the Quarian(Tali?) concept art is rather unsettling, it's hard to imagine such a sour looking face spouting Tali's lines.

Yeah please dont put up anymore pics of Tali without the mask. I just dont like how others vision her compared to my idea. It kinda kills the idea i have in my head Also I think that one of the reasons why Tali is awesome is the "Mystery" idea or the "forbiden fruit" idea

Eh, it's a face at rest.  Of course there's no expression to it.  I think it looks regal.  Like this.

I guess I should have mentioned this earlier but I'm rather rooted in the *keep the mask on* camp. We'll see what Quarians look like one day but I'm fine not knowing every lovely, baby smooth, curvy, milky soft, heavenly, pristine scuplted feature......

There is no point being upset with spectulated apperances of her face. Just worry about what might end up being the canon reveal of her face.

As for Tali's appearance. If Bioware does reveal her, that's going to be her face anyway. Might be better to be subject to several different interpretations before hand so you don't get as disappointed if the face is far from what you imagined. If Bioware doesn't reveal her, well...you have somewhat a point, but only somewhat.



I want to see Tali's face, but I'll be happy with however Bioware makes it. Tali's personality is what I am primarily attracted to her, her selflessness, her intelligence, her adorableness. Only thing I think is imperative are a nice set of lips on her face.

Eh, to me it is all purely speculation anyway.  Bioware created her, they get to decide how she looks.  Everything else is unofficial.  Even if I had something in my head I could never feel like "this IS Tali".  In any case I don't inline images, only link.  Click or don't click, no bother to me.

Never really understood that sentiment.  Or, rather, I do but it seems very insubstantive to me.
Mysteriousness and forbidden fruit are ideas that are attractors when you don't know somebody at all; they work by playing on curiosity about, and desire for, the unknown.  But Tali isn't unknown, in fact she is very open and trusts Shepard with lots of secrets about her family life and feelings, and has a fairly outgoing personality.  Virtually the only thing you don't know about her is her face -- not only is this the most superficial type of mystery, but it isn't even by her own choice.  She hates her damn helmet.  Not seeing someones face doesn't automatically make them mysterious, it only makes them obscured.  Mysterious is what someone is when you don't know them very well and they are coy or evasive about telling or showing you their true selves.  It can be a draw at first, but IMO it has no place in any sort of deep relationship.  No secrets among shipmates, as Tali says.

I'm not saying there won't be fans, and people who make keep such threads as these alive, just the 100 pages a day thing is going to decay at a dramatic rate, to a handful a day.

I'll actually be doing the opposite come ME3. I spoiled far too much of ME2. Like garrus=archangle, Tali being exiled, etc. I'll be keeping myself completely in the dark once info starts leaking.
