take a look at this guys
www.space.com/missionlaunches/pluto-new-horizons-halfway-distance-100226.html
best part
"The spacecraft is headed to
study the dwarf planet Pluto and its three moons — Nix, Hydra and Charon.
New Horizons will not stop and orbit Pluto.
Instead, it will record
detailed observations during a flyby and then head out into the Kuiper Belt on
the edge of the solar system to study the icy objects lurking in that cosmic
realm."
wont be long now... *sits back in chair*
From the article:
New Horizons has been billed
as NASA's fastest mission to visit another world. It is zooming across the
solar system at about 36,000 mph (nearly 58,000 kph). Next month, it will cross
the orbit of Uranus.
Do you think they'll... you know... send a probe?
that would be great... um i mean... nooo:unsure:
wow i had something really dirty to say but im just gonna keep it too myself this time
best part about this ...jokes aside
www.nasa.gov/vision/universe/solarsystem/newplanet-072905.html
there is some thing behind pluto and we dont know what it is
so keep your fingers crossed:pinched:
Hate to burst your bubble, but that article is five years old and talking about the dwarf planet Eris. It's not that exciting really.
Er, the probe was luanched in 2006 but the article is only 3 months old and the probe wont get to pluto until 2015 and longer to get to the kuiper belt. I think its quite exciting to find out what we will find, although I doubt it will be a mass relay:( its still good to see us doing things like this;)
