I'm not so sure about the canon though.  If what people are saying is true and Tali's saying things like "I got better, I got you" to femshep and implying about linking suits with her, I see the potential for her having an interest in femshep.  I agree with your argument: it would be too weird to make Garrus or Jacob or Thane gay, because they all have very straight, non-suggestive conversations with male shep.  Talis sound pretty suggestive though.

It is about canon, though. Kaiden is not gay because of what almost happened. Bioware fully planned on making Tali a LI for both sides just like Thane was, but since it's not in the game now it would feel cheap for them to change their minds.  If they had added it to ME2 instead of scrapping it there would be no problems whatsoever. Still dk why they'd go through the trouble.

Emphasis mine.  So, is it cheap that they changed their minds on Tali being a love interest?  Because she was supposed to be a LI for ME1 before they decided that the chicken feet would weird people out.  Does that mean it was a mistake for her to be a LI in ME2?

Sorry, but the only reason Tali seems to be "straight" is because she is only romanceable by a male Shepard in ME2.  She has lines addressed to femShep which are overtly romantic, and there is a precedent for characters who were not romanceable in a previous ME title to be romancable in the next (Tali, Garrus, obvs.).  Tali never, ever says that she isn't interested in ladies.  In fact, she suggests the opposite in some of her dialogues.

Omission is not proof, by any standard.

Also, why is there such a hard line in this thread against a female-romanceable Tali?  It's not like it affects your game, gentlemen.

Just join the Fight for the Love group... easier to fight for multiple romance situations than one ;)

Actually some of the people there are starting subgroups to rally for the inclusion of specific same-sex LIs. Most recently a Kaidan x Male Shep one sprang up; good times. Anyway, more than a handful of ladies are talking about starting a Tali x fem Shep group, we'll see. Look forward to you joining 1490, if you still wanna.

Is there a Jack, Tali, Mshep threesome group? Cause that's one I can really get into ^_^

Hey Talimancers. Just logged in, and I've been trying to get up to speed about this 'discovered' missing dialogue in the ME2 PC sound files. Ok...I watched the YouTube Video, and yes I could easily see how Tali's use of the Linking suit dialogue could be constrewed as her being interested in a romantic relationship with a Female Shepard.

However...I think our female Talimancers may be looking too much into it for the sake of thier own Love of Tali. Now, there is a general consensus that Tali Love should be shared by all, and I completely agree. However, from a Story standpoint, Tali being Bi-Sexual just does 'not' mesh with everything we have been told or learned through various subsequent means about her. Basically, there is nothing to indicate that Tali would want to 'be' with a women.

From a stricly Quarian standpoint, not a Human one, Tali has been written to be very Straite (spelling?). This 'missing' extra dialogue really gives no indication that she feels otherwise. And no, I do not think this has anything to do with that Fox News Bull; basically, Tali was never intended to be a same sex Love Interest. I do, however, believe that other same sex relationships 'were' intended to be put into the game, both for Male Shep and FemShep, but were removed either at the behest of EA or some other factor.

I recall reading that the german voice actor for MaleShep mentioned in an interview that he 'had' recorded Homosexual dialogue for Shepard, but it never found it's way into the final product. So, whereas I do believe same sex relationships were meant to be in the game, Tali was never intended to be one of them. It just...does not match with the character. I know I may be flammed for this, and I hope not.

I will not refute the fact that I may be mistaken, however...all the interviews with writers and all the info we Talimancers recieved over the years either from the Old ME Forums and the Tali-Love threads or other sources never once hinted that they intended for the character to go that way. Hell, Jack was mentioned as being an option for a time, but that never panned out. So...yeah. I just don't see it. And, honestly, I'm glad they didn't.

To me, making a character same sex oriented when they were never meant to be just smacks of pandering to a certain audience, and such things are beneath Bioware. Like I said, just my two cents. Nothing against you same sex oriented Talimancers, hell I'm even getting help from a Gay friend of mine for writing a Lesbian character into my Short Fiction story. This is just an observation.

Exactly!  If you're a male shep, you'll never get to see Tali act attracted to any women, so in your mind she can be 100% straight for your playthrough.  They retconned Tali into having an attraction to a human male, I don't see why they wouldn't be able to do it for a female.

But... why not the pounce? :(  Like you said, Shepard's actions are the same, whether it's a female or male Shepard.  Why shouldn't Tali fall as madly in love with female Shepard as she does with her male counterpart?

It's just sexual preferance.
I mean, I've had some really great guy friends in my life who have really gone out of their way for me at times, but I've never wanted to pounce them. Now, if it had been a girl who had done the same then, yes, there would have been pounceing.
Probably followed by sueing, but the point is: Tali seems to be strait and simply not interested in women.
I don't make the rules. If I did, the FemSheps could have all the Tali they could handle.

sigh, let's not get this thread closed. I just want to clarify that I think all FemSheps deserved to have Talimance in ME2, the content was there. I do think it's too late to change the decision they've made. The whole thing is just an unfortunate topic. I wish I never knew Ashley, Kaiden, Tali, and Thane were possible same-sex LI's. Ignorance is heaven.

No, working in a hospital is not like scrubs.  You very rarely ever talk to anyone else unless it's patient-care related because you're always overstaffed.  The environment is much more professional, especially when you're talking to patient you need to hold a high standard.  I mean, it would be cool if it was like scrubs, would definitely make clinical days more interesting - but no.

really? your hospital must suck. My bro and his GF are both nurses and its like gossip city in there.

Edit: by suck I mean be boring to work there, no offense to the care you provide

Not 100% sure but I think Tali and Garrus were not intended to be a LI in ME1 and because thousands of fans demanded it. There is no romance dialogue for Tali or Garrus in ME1. So you need to get thousands of FemSheps together and all yell "TONIGHT, WE DINE WITH TALI!".

If only all arguements were as well written and presented.
I pretty much agree what this right here.
I'm NOT saying that I'm against a femshep x Tali romance, because I'm not. All I'm saying is that, to me, it doesn't seem to fit.
And that's all I'm going to say about this simply becuase I don't want to upset anyone here.

Technically Tali was never intended to be any love interest. In a bio interview they commented that when they made her character she was supposed to feel like your little sister or something..... Dunno what that says about us falling in love w/ her <_<
