hmm, well IF you chose Tali as the Lover interest and consummated - keeping her alive would require repeated 'injections' of Shepard's genetic material to stave off the decline that would occur from her weakened immune system - without frequent repeat doses of said 'manjuice' she'd die.
No amount "annoculation" is going to stop her dextro-amino acid base from having harmful reactions when coming in contact with human amino acids.
Actually, Chilraity isn't necessarily harmful. It's just potentially harmful.
We eat dextro products quite often, it's just there are some that flush right through our system. Some that give us cramps/runs, and some that can even kill us.
Physical contact isn't the issue, frankly Modrin's speech about it is a very generalized version of what happens. Going into detail would go over the head of most people who are just playing a video game.
It could kill her though, but she seems fine after the event beyond an allergic reaction which was the result of contact with human elements, and not semen.
Not to mention humans have native bacteria living in their mouths and on their skin that other species, not just quarians, would not have adepted to. Just the fact that she's quarian makes it an even greater risk.
the fact that she's quarian means its actually less of a risk, because levo-dna bacteria cannot affect dextro-dna organisms. The most it can cause is an allergic reaction (like with the food or body fluids) and that can go away after enough exposure anyway.
What about anaphylactic shock? Tali herself has stated that the effects may range from mild irritation, to pain, to potential death. If the allergic reaction is acute enough it could potentially be lethal (ex. though not the same I'm reminded of acute allergy towards peanuts in some people).
We know that sort of reaction isn't going to happen because she's already had sex with Shep with only reasonably mild reactions. Those who experience acute anaphylaxis (allergic reaction) with something (lets say eggs or peanuts) can have difficulty with even the scent. If there was going to be a serious reaction it would have already happened by now, and they would not have been able to spend two hours gettin' it on, or even half an hour if any sort of acute reaction was going to happen. Tali was talking more in terms of possibilities, because it was an unknown factor. We know now that with the immuno-boosters she had its a pretty mild reaction, and even she admits as such.
Anyway I have to go do my medic recert tmw with the crappy 7am start so I gotta go guys... its so hard to leave!! :'(
Keelah se'lai, keep spreading the love!
