Tch, best game ever? What are you smoking.

Clearly it's the 2nd best game ever.

Baldurs Gate 2 still exists last i checked.

I second that!

BG2 is the best for me. Even though my preference of BG2 is based solely on the fact that it was first, and I consider it tradition.

So if I had to quantify my  affection towards BG2, ME and any other game (1 being suckiest, 10 being godly) ti would be something like this

BG1+BG2+ToB - 10
ME1+ME2 - 9.9999
third best thing somewhere between 7 and 7.5

I feel the same thing about Star Trek...TNG 1st, DS9 2nd

I have much love for BGII and the role-playing world of Faerun (I used to play AD&D in that setting as a teenager). That said, I find the ME universe more vibrant, engaging, engrossing, believable and mature. This is the unadulterated strength and beauty of BioWare: Story telling. The ME universe is their own baby. Forgotten Realms wasn't and isn't.

Sad? Conversations exist to evolve. This is a natural evolution of things, it's also temporary.

Instead marvel at her ability to bring people to share their common interests with each other.

I agree with Lareit. There's a limit to which a subject can be discussed continuously, otherwise we'd keep moving in a cycle around the same aspects.

Well I guess we still are, albeit at a slower rate.

Fear not. There are still those of us who answer the call and come switftly and decisively to the defence of the ME universe and the indomitable Tali'Zorah vas Normandy.

Personally I wonder more what music will be like in 100+ years. It may have evolved entirely.

Tell me about it Knight. I'm starting to lose interest in coming here, to be honest. Too much off topic discussion and narrow minded sarcasm for it to be the friendly place it was during 2.0

When the Tali discussion takes a back seat to the off topic discussion 90% of the time, the thread should be laid to rest.

I hate to admit it, but I've been thinking the same thing. I love Tali, but this is getting pretty rediculous as of late. I think this poor thread is in its death throws. Maybe we've just said everything that can possibly be said about Tali (I hope not, cuz I'd like to see this thread continue on it's true course, to keep holding Bioware accountable to Tali's fans), but if we keep getting so severely sidetracked, it might as well be given up, because it's no longer serving the cause.Posted Image

Suffice it to say that we disagree on a lot of points regarding what you typed previously, and that it is unlikely you will sway my current stance on the matter. Starcraft II will not be getting my money anytime soon, if ever. ME3 on the other hand is already a done deal as far as I'm concerned providing EA/BioWare hold the course with their current implementations of DRM.

Not bad techno(flux) though apparently she thought it was interesting.

I hope she thought it was interesting due to a "Hey guys, listen to this horrible music the citadel races listen too so we can mock their horrible taste" and not a "hey guys, listen to this music, i think it's neat."

Are you guys serious? How many times can you post

"I love tali"
and "Keelah Selai"

before the point gets across?

As many times as we want. As many times as need be. If you don't care for it too bad.

That said, I have no problem with off topic material being discussed and I agree that it can help keep a thread going.

Tali said she liked the music at Flux. Music is probably synthesized due to lack of natural resources to make instruments.

That is where you are wrong. It is serving the cause. Bioware does not read this thread. They, at best, see the post count and page count. Any bumping that isn't specifically designed as a bump promotes the cause of getting attention towards Tali.

I do not mind off-topic "distractions" as it were, however I too notice the signs. It was to be expected and does not surprise me though it does leave me feeling a bit sad. Still, as you pointed out some things can only be repeated so often before they begin to inundate and numb the participants involved. ME3 may make it in time for a late 2011 launch (that's my hope at any rate), yet until new DLC or expansion packs arrive, or concrete news regarding the ME games from BioWare, interest is bound to wane. It will likely rise again for a period of time once new material/news is released. That's the nature of the product cycle beast.

Possibly true, yet your opinion does not automatically equate with fact. This very issue was brought up with you the other day as well.

Considering there was a 500 page gap between Christina Norman and Woo's eventually closing, they don't keep very good tabs.

I don't think I am wrong, though. What you're suggesting is like falsifying a vote by filling it with names of deceased people. You take away all validity of the process by stuffing the ballot boxes, and cheapen whatever point is trying to be made.

But, nevermind. I don't want to start some big rediculous argument over a point I'm obviously not going to win.

I'm heading out. I'll be back if we ever get back on topic.

Hold the line Knight. Lareit has exhibited a tendency towards this sort of behaviour in the past couple of days. He has interesting observations at times, IMO, yet also appears to have an unfortunate tendency to go out of his way to rub certain people the wrong way. If need be ignore him and help re-focus and nurture the core values that made these Tali threads so open, fun, tolerant and appealing to so many. Please?:)
