My vote.

I posted this before, but didn't recieve any responses. Don't know if because people not interested, or thread moving too fast, or people thinking I was trying to be a Troll. I think it is a valid question, but you decide. Does anybody think that we will be fighting the Quarians in ME3. Before you start booing and throwing stuff listen to the theroy. For any who have read Ascension (which is canon) know that the Quarians are desperate. They need a place to live because their ships are begining to wear out. School of thought was either 1. (majority) stay as a fleet, or 2. (minority) find a place to settle. Due to the attack by Cerberus the political landscape changed and the majority shifted to 2. find a place to settle, which is alluded to in the game. Now, you have some that want to fight geth and some that want to either find a peaceful resolution, or a new world (I know you all already know this, just stating it so you can follow my line of thought). Now in the book there are some in the conclave that want (and do) send out recon ships through unexplored mass effect relays for 2 reasons. The first treason is reasonable, to find unpopulated worlds where they can settle. The second (we finally get to it) is the one that got me thinking. They want to find a Reaper. Here is the thinking, Sovereign controled the geth. What is a reaper but a machine, an AI. What do Quarians excell at? They think they can take and control a Reaper and then use the Reaper's systems to in turn control the geth in order to return to their homeworld. If they find a reaper, the quarians would either control it, or be controled by it. That's my thinking anyway. In ME3 I think the quarians will either be the enemy, or the key to defeating the reapers. Your thoughts and if we fight the quarians how does this affect Shep and Tali?

I actually have thought fighting the quarians a real possibility in ME3. I figured the plot would allude up to Darro'Xen using the data from Rael'Zorah's research to begin ursurping the Geth from themselves(and thus the majority of the things we killing are actually geth in game) and there is a good chance we might have to pick a side to help either legion or tali(if they still live)

Would be a hard decision for me. The quarians are dangerously close to extinction, but if they attacked the geth they would be in the wrong.

Plus I highly doubt Tali would appreciate me sideing against the quarians.

Indeed. Morals would have to take a backseat there I'm afraid, I'd be with the Quarians. Unlucky Legion!

I must be the only one who'd side with Legion, if given no other options.

No, I probably would too. I couldn't respect myself if I let the geth get enslaved to the aggressors simply because I was infatuated with Tali. Could I even respect the relationship if I was forced to go against my belief's purely for racial bias?

Luckily I have the meta game knowledge that I can eventually Paragon bandaid everything......probably

Legion doesn't have any ports for my data stick... ^_^

This is true.

Honestly, I advocate peace between the two. Tali seemed willing to cooperate with Legion when you use the Paragon/Renegade option in the Legion/Tali fight.

Here's the thing imho, if the quarians do find a reaper and control it I don't think it will just be a Geth vs Quarians war. Maybe it would be to start, but the quarians have been sh*t on so long they may decide they want more than just their world and they have a reaper to back them up. or.. if the quarians find a reaper and become indoc'ed then it will also be a quarian vs everyone war. Not sure if any of that would enter into the equation when Bioware writes me3. I am rooting for a good quarian race that doesn't find a reaper, but are the key (because of their experience w/ AI) to defeating them.

Extreamly likely. Claws, talons, nails, are a very necessary tool during the development of species in the chain of their evolution.

Not for all species, and entirely dependent on habitation. ^_^

Name one land based mammal life form that doesn't have some form of talon or claw or nail, that has feet.

Potential fallacy. You are referencing Earth while dealing with an alien species originating on another planet.

I doubt repear's will play into the equation. Tali's exile trial gave plenty of tools for the quarians to use against the geth without repear tech to complicate things.

@KFD Yeah i know, but he asked a highly spectulative question. I gave the only answer I had data to support. I also supplied Varren and pyjacks as examples too.

I think I'll follow Knight's lead and leave this thread alone, Lareit's attitude just doesn't make for a fun environment for me. I'll be around if anyone needs me.

Don't let one individual hijack the thread. Fight back man! Stand up for the things you believe and care about! If need be simply treat this individual as just one more troll and ignore him. As the Krogan said, it is the greatest insult one can show an opponent. ;)

yea... its actually better to rub an itch, than to scratch. It doesn't damage the skin.

I use a tool to take care of itches. More efficient.

I've listened to about a quarter of that radio broadcast. I'm not sure I'm going to finish listening to it. If she has been doing what the broadcast says she has been doing then the boyfriend is fully justified in ending matters, but I cringe at public humiliation in general. Not to mention the unnecessary cruelty of leading her on.

Maybe I'm a huge nerd, but I think it'd be cool to play a game where you're establishing a Quarian colony or even rebuilding on the home world.

I'm a big fan of the krogan form of ignoring people like that. Saves you time too.

I honestly doubt that the Quarians could control a Reaper. They (Rael'Zorah and Daro'Xen) are having trouble controling/defeating the Geth. One can assume that Reaper "code", if they really are AIs (they could be organics who "ascended" into machines, overcoming physical boundaries) is a lot more sophisticated than the Geth. How could Quarians, even with all their knowledge, be able to even remotely influence a machine like a Reaper ?

Eh? Whats the problem, he asked if Tali has claws. We can't verify if they do. I used the only tools avaliable to say she probably does. I didn't say that my supportive evidence proves she does. I only said it supports that she probably does.

Are the geth a 'race'? Tali states they aren't any smarter than a varen, on an individual basis and only gain 'intelligence' when linked together. I'm not for wiping them out either, but don't know where they fit in as a species. Of course if the quarians had implemented Asimov's laws for robotics it wouldn't be an issue.

What I don't understand is why they don't hollow out a moon. I mean if they can live indefinitely on ships why not settle on a lifeless planetoid and transform the surface with tech modules.
