I posted this before, but didn't recieve any responses. Don't know if because people not interested, or thread moving too fast, or people thinking I was trying to be a Troll. I think it is a valid question, but you decide. Does anybody think that we will be fighting the Quarians in ME3. Before you start booing and throwing stuff listen to the theroy. For any who have read Ascension (which is canon) know that the Quarians are desperate. They need a place to live because their ships are begining to wear out. School of thought was either 1. (majority) stay as a fleet, or 2. (minority) find a place to settle. Due to the attack by Cerberus the political landscape changed and the majority shifted to 2. find a place to settle, which is alluded to in the game. Now, you have some that want to fight geth and some that want to either find a peaceful resolution, or a new world (I know you all already know this, just stating it so you can follow my line of thought). Now in the book there are some in the conclave that want (and do) send out recon ships through unexplored mass effect relays for 2 reasons. The first treason is reasonable, to find unpopulated worlds where they can settle. The second (we finally get to it) is the one that got me thinking. They want to find a Reaper. Here is the thinking, Sovereign controled the geth. What is a reaper but a machine, an AI. What do Quarians excell at? They think they can take and control a Reaper and then use the Reaper's systems to in turn control the geth in order to return to their homeworld. If they find a reaper, the quarians would either control it, or be controled by it. That's my thinking anyway. In ME3 I think the quarians will either be the enemy, or the key to defeating the reapers. Your thoughts and if we fight the quarians how does this affect Shep and Tali?
I actually have thought fighting the quarians a real possibility in ME3. I figured the plot would allude up to Darro'Xen using the data from Rael'Zorah's research to begin ursurping the Geth from themselves(and thus the majority of the things we killing are actually geth in game) and there is a good chance we might have to pick a side to help either legion or tali(if they still live)
Would be a hard decision for me. The quarians are dangerously close to extinction, but if they attacked the geth they would be in the wrong.
Plus I highly doubt Tali would appreciate me sideing against the quarians.
Indeed. Morals would have to take a backseat there I'm afraid, I'd be with the Quarians. Unlucky Legion!
I must be the only one who'd side with Legion, if given no other options.
No, I probably would too. I couldn't respect myself if I let the geth get enslaved to the aggressors simply because I was infatuated with Tali. Could I even respect the relationship if I was forced to go against my belief's purely for racial bias?
Luckily I have the meta game knowledge that I can eventually Paragon bandaid everything......probably
