No, but seriously. It's natural and normal to eat animals.

Doesn't really matter to me. We have alternatives to killing animals for food, so why not do that instead? I'd prefer not to think that my meal came at the cost of an innocent animal.

Simply reproducing and using land for crop growth inhibits animal populations.

Animals were been doing a fine job surviving without humans existing.

It's life. Might as well eat meat because it tastes good.

Wouldn't you be repulsed and offended if someone said that it's alright to eat humans because it's meat, tastes good, and you can survive off of it?

Plants and fruits are not comparable to animals. We know that animals can feel pain and genuinely in an active way to wish to live. While you could say you "kill" plants and fruits, it's simply not very comparable to the killing of animals.

Vegetarians for animal rights makes no damn sense though.

Wrong. Not purchasing meat makes sure that your money does not go to the slaughtering of animals if you can help it.

Not directing this towards you or anyone else in this thread, but it's really sad to see people who call themselves vegetarians yet eat fish. Is fish not flesh? I teased one family member about it and now she no longer calls herself a vegetarian.

Well to clarifiy that specific case:

Good friend of mine, she is a vegetarian and after a year she really got sick, lack of proteins etc. Doctor told her, she had to stop not eating meat, otherwise things would get worse. She didn't want it and tried it with fish and it worked out for her.

And there are different grades of vegeratians, people not eating red meat, not eating any meat but fish, not eating meat nor fish etc. - they all call themselves vegetarian.

Milkless vegetarians are the ones I find 100% validity to mock incessantly.

It really depends on the person. I've been a vegetarian for more than a year and I've had absolutely no trouble gaining muscle. There are alternatives to eating meat for protein, including protein shakes.

She didn't want it and tried it with fish and it worked out for her.

Eating fish is no better morally than eating meat. Although I'm not faulting her for trying to keep her proteins up.

And there are different grades of vegeratians, people not eating red meat, not eating any meat but fish, not eating meat nor fish etc. - they all call themselves vegetarian.

It's basically that I don't feel they deserve the title. Not much of a vegetarian if you eat flesh in any way.

I apologize for not beeing vegetarian, but I really respect those who are, impressive.

I don't think there is any vegetarian here...
Anyone?

I'm a vegetarian and will continue to be until I'm dead (in which case it wouldn't matter lawl). In a civilized society where we are able to grow our own crops, we no longer have to kill animals for survival.

wise spoken.

Btw. it's a matter of fact that animals suffer and prefer living in pleasure instead of pain. Fact.

People often care to less about their own habbits and styles of living, it's not that eating meat is wrong (I'm eating it), but you just have to think about your own actions from time to time

"muttered to herself" Why didn't I "shut up" once again? (sorry for the vulgar language)

I've noticed this before, have yet to speak on it, though.

Revankun, I find it A-freakin'-dorable that "shut up" constitutes vulgar language in your eyes.

It sends me into a fit of giggles and "Awwwh" noises every time I see you make apologies for it.  I am not ashamed of this.  I can admit it.

Oh, the whole vegetarian debate. Well I'm not going to rag on anyone's lifestyle choice as long as they maintain a respect for others choices.

However to the idea that a vegetarian diet does not cause suffering to animals is a bit misguided.

BTW, On topic Tali is awesome.

Everything you say is correct, but I have to say that atleast some are tryin', when not satisfying others who don't reward them the title vegetarian. But it's not about titles, it's about making up your mind about your actions and question them and find a way of beeing comfortable with yourself, because in the end the only person you have to account for your actions is yourself

Animals also were doing a fine job of eating each other too. It's not like humans all becomming vegetarians is going to stop cats from killing birds. Birds from eating worms. Dogs from killing cats. Frogs from eating bugs. Fish from eating smaller fish.

Meat is healthy in proper dosages and tastes good. The apex predator always has the superior life style in their enviroment.  We are the apex predator. The vast majority of the food we eat is bred for the sole purpose of being eaten. Those animals only purpose is to become food. Pigs, Cows and Chickens would be extreamly endangered if not exticnt without us using them as a food source.

As for cannibalism, it's taboo to us. I couldn't imagine eating a manwhich because the thought of a naked human male being skined and turned into hamburger meat is a little unpleasant. And a womanwich would make me sad at the lost of a hot chick.

But most animals don't feel that way about their own kind. Hard to consider them innocent really.

But do I feel it's wrong when a shark or alligator or python or wild dogs, etc, etc eat a human? No, we're animals and we're meat to them. It's fine.
