They're logical. Emotion has no real effect on their decisions. Yes, the quarians have paid the price for their arrogance, and deserve a second chance.

But did they learn from it? They think the lesson was that AI is bad. But thats just another mistake. The real mistake was genocide is bad. Until they learn that they will be doomed.

So entire genocide of Quarians is better then wiping out all "Units" of Geth. Geth can be built, you can't build a soul. Personal choice for me would be to.

Ask geth to leave Quarain home-geth say yes, ok everything is fine let them go about there buisness.

-geth say no, i say destory all geth units and restrict all production of AI, combat machines that are that intelligent on there own cannot be left to simply grow and grow on there own. to risky. I would enjoy seeing those emotionless geth impalled on dragons teeth. i would enjoy it Immenesly.

No, you're missing GHA's point. GENOICDE IS BAD, NO MATTER THE PARTY IT ORIGINATES FROM. I'm in favor of peace between them, but it requires both sides so see that that is the only correct option.

It's pure logic for the Geth to leave. 

1. They don't use the planet at all.
2. It would create permanent (at least for the foreseeable future) peace between them and Quarians.
3. The Geth letting the Quarians back to their world would be big news for the entire galaxy, and show the entire galaxy that the Geth aren't the boogey men most people consider them to be.

There's virtually no downside to them leaving, as long as it can all be done peacefully. It's not like the Geth would place any sentimental value on the area.

What makes you think that logical thinking prevents falsehood? If anything, the Geth are more likely to lie because they can do so with complete competency. Mathematically work out the the most likely scenario that an organic will believe and then just feed misconceptions. And whats this about not holding grudges? I must have missed that news cycle when the Geth declared their borders and informed that other races that they will protect their space. Instead, they simply attack anyone who enters their space for any reason. Likely without warning. If the Geth were really interested in peaceful co-existence, they would have made steps towards that goal be now.

The Quarians have solid reasons for no colonizing a planet. For the most part, Tali herself states that it would take a much, much shorter time to acclimatize back to the one homeworld then it would to any other planet (I think it was 60 vs 600 years or something like that.) Some Quarain leaders are making a political push to make war on the Geth. This hardly means the whole race is hell bent on making war on a clearly more powerful foe. In fact, some leaders are decidedly anti-war and pro reconciliation. That would be possible, if the Geth had opened diplomatic relations with . . . well anyone.

We can both agree that  emotional decision making is bad, so emotionless decision making is worse.

The fact that someone trusts you doesn't imply that they wouldn't do harm to you.  Indeed, it is a tactic of some thieves and swindlers to gain the trust of others, and get to know their victims well enough to know their motives, so that they can more easily get away with their crimes or gain access to more of their victims resources.

The Geth, on the other hand, have arrived at the conclusion that other sentient life should "self determinate" based entirely on internally consistent logic.  For them, there is no emotion that they can have that would make them question that logic, and nothing you could do to them that would invalidate it.  It is as solid as 1+1=2 to them, they are not fickle about their conclusion.  To me, that seems like a fairly powerful argument to their trustworthiness.

That's an interesting statement.
I think a good argument could be made that having emotions makes them more trustworthy.  Emotions motivate people to do a lot terrible things, fear maybe more often than any of them.  The Geth have no such emotion.  What exactly is it about having emotions that you think makes someone more trustworthy?
