So, shutting down a sentient, thinking machine that has its own thoughts, beliefs, etc is ok because it's a machine? I guess if a machine looked at you and thought the same of you just because you're organic, that would ok, too?
I believe in survival of the strongest, if the geth can kill me then they deserve to win. However i also hate a species that has been shooting at me for some time (geth or heretics) and i hate seeing a group of overall good people being punished for a crime they payed for ten folds, So my choice is destory that which has threatned me and my allies..geth

Survival of the fittest=Geth would win against the Quarians, everyone knows it, you know it...

Soul- to me is a spiritual connection to heaven that allows someone to live beyond there physical shell
Basically even if they geth did feel pain they have nothing to live for anway, no real hopes of acuiring something greater once they die..since after all when they die there data is transmitted to the other geth..so they cant die unless every single one is destoryed. or just all of them in a certian area.

As an atheist, I would argue the soul is an artificial construct invented by humans. You cannot detect what is not there, and lacking what doesnt exist does not make you inferior.
