So Bioware has to do a little more scripting/voice over work/thinking about how all of these characters that may or may not have died will interact in ME3.  That's a GOOD thing.  We want our developers to be meeting and exceeding ambitious goals like this, it's the only way video games will continue to progress in any manner other than graphical shine.  By setting ambitious goals, advertising that you've set an ambitious goal, and then putting their money where their mouths are.

If any developer can do it, I know it'd be you, Bioware!  Make me proud!

You make a good point, I guess my last statement would better be phrased as; if Bioware was going to cop out, I would rather them have everyone alive by default instead of a whole new squad.  The no cop out option is always the better option.

I can see the logic in that, but sadly I am Paragon to the extreme.  No compromises.

I don't do "lesser of two evils."  I dropkick both sets of evils in the face simultaneously!  Then I save the damsel in distress, defy impossible odds and bring everyone home alive and kicking.
Then I rescue the kitten from the tree, help the old lady cross the street and kick back on a private beach somewhere on a deserted planet with my girl Tali sipping mai tais, awaiting the next "impossible situation" that needs resolving with my trademarked "No compromises" manner.

Because I'm Commander ****ing Shepard, Jedi Knight Spectre Ex-Spectre Cyborg Zombie Whatever ME3 makes me out to be.

It fascinates me that there is an entire cadre of devotees on deviantart who do nothing but draw fat pics of popular characters.  It's not a joke either: this is aparrently what they see as the standard of beauty.  Welcome to America, lol
