Well he does smile, so I suppose he likes what he sees.

He smiles? I don't recall.

It's not a big grin, that would have likely been... off-putting. It was subtle, like how it usually is.

I really doubt that Tali is the only quarian that Shepard has seen unmasked.  The internet and photographs do exist in the ME universe.  Even if pictures of quarians in the last 300 years are rare, I'm sure they would still exist.  And asari and krogans are alive who saw quarians first hand.  Unless Shepard was playing the ultimate game of wanting to be surprised, he knows what quarians look like.

Place-holder, damnit. You are not supposed to take what's underneath for consideration. Simply there for convenience. It's also worth note that all quarians in-game have the same face underneath. Tali simply has more detailed eyes.

Aware eyes are originally for emoting. However. In-game could be due to one of three possibilities.
1) Eyes actually glow. Presidence set with Collectors and Volus. Though. May impeed vision.
2) Eyes are reflective. Similar to terrestrial cats. Lights of HUD reflect and provide "glow". Though. May not provide enough glow.
3) Eyes are cybernetic. Similar to TIM. Quarians have cybernetics. Mentioned as immune boosting effect. No mention of eyes. Least likely scenario.

Semi-tangent. Would like to hear Quarian language. After removal of mask. Would have been nice for Tali to speak without suit translator.

So 16 year old Shepard wasn't perusing random alien pr0n sites?  I doubt it

Plus travel time still exists.  I've wondered how much time actually passes when you say, circle a solar system.  The only game mention of time is 2 hours to the omega 4 relay, but we don't know where they left from.  Still, average 2 hours for every in solar system trip is a lot of down time.

I hope they do, Whatever Tali looks like under the mask will likely dissappoint somebody.
Simple solution: Leave her masked, make her look extremely pretty even in suit, perhaps show boobs?
