I personally wouldn't care if we never saw what Tali's face, and in fact fear seeing what it looks like. For it to meet the personality, it would have to be absolutely friggin incredible.
All of us already have our own theories what Tali looks like. Letting us see her could change her in our eyes. She's already some people's unhealthy obsession.

Frankly, I could go either way on this. However, tying this into a major story event in ME3 would be brilliant. Drama for the win.

Well hopefully bioware doesnt pull a bungie, we all thought we'd get to see the Master Chief in Halo 3 lol
I hope they do, Whatever Tali looks like under the mask will likely dissappoint somebody.
Simple solution: Leave her masked, make her look extremely pretty under even in suit, perhaps show boobs?
Tali looks great in her suit, once she takes it off she'll just be another alien.
But when shes masked everyone can think what they like about her.
Master Chief & Tali are both proof that the ability for the player to reflect his own ideas onto a character makesthe character great.
You unmask her that all goes down the drain.
Just my opinion
Master Chief and Tali are not the same at all aside from the fact that we haven't seen either's face.
Master Chief is a first person avatar, when you play Halo, you are Master Chief. Tali is a seperate character created arbitrarily by Bioware. They control her appearance, personality and actions. We have no effect on Tali aside from what our character does to her. The only idea you can project on Tali is your idea of her face. And what Tali's face looks like is such a small percentage of her actual character that it's not worth mentioning IMO.
We already know most of what there is to Tali. I don't see how the last few % points can destroy the rest of it.

There's two sides to the unhealthy obsession coin. If someone is on here all day a month and a half after ME2 has been out, are we really going to like Tali less if she is purple instead of blue?
Bioware isn't going to make her ass ugly. And everything else is perfectly acceptable to me. Like I said before, don't get too caught up on specifics, and you'll be happy with the result. I would think most people understand that.

That brings up an interesting concept. in ME1 you could influence both Garrus and (provided you played a femshep) Kaiden. What would it be like for a renegade shepard to influence Tali to a more violent, aggressive person? Not jack psychotic or Grunt "kill anything that moves", just showing off a darker side to her personality.Phil725 wrote...

Well her loyalty mission has a massive effect on the Quarian people, especially chaotic if you hand the evidence in.

Yeah I feel like we'll have a large influence over the quarian people, moreso than Tali as an individual. Tali seems a lot more sure of herself than ME1 Garrus or Kaidan. The quarian people on the other hand, they're pulling 5 different directions and are just screaming for a unifying voice.

I like the direction they took with Liara because I didn't. It was an imperfection, a character becoming darker t make the story more believable, like Garrus channelling Batman.
