They control her appearance, personality and actions.  We have no effect on Tali aside from what our character does to her.

That brings up an interesting concept. in ME1 you could influence both Garrus and (provided you played a femshep) Kaiden. What would it be like for a renegade shepard to influence Tali to a more violent, aggressive person? Not jack psychotic or Grunt "kill anything that moves", just showing off a darker side to her personality.
I'd rather like to see that.

I'm quite content with Tali not being malevolent.

As am I. I'm just saying it would be an interesting turn of events if your shepard was able to turn to the proverbial dark side.
Here's an example; let's say she was exiled in your playthrough,
the quarian people turned on her after everything she did for them. Now if it were me, I'd be BEYOND pissed off about it. So Shepard, though conversations with her, could get her to admit that she needs to start looking out for herself more and not think so much about what other people need.
This translates into a more aggressive posture when dealing with prejudice against her people and in the romance subplot we could have a more indulgent tali who is all for the romance regardless of the risks and dangers presented.
I'm not saying I don't like Tali as is, and I never would say that, I'm just saying that this could be an entertaining twist on the character.

So no one wants to even discuss this?Image IPB

sure. I hope the liara/tali confrontation will be as painless as the ashley/liara confrontation.

Liara: "I thought you loved me, Shepard"
Shep:"I do"
Tali: "But I thought you loved me, Shepard"
Shep:"I do"
Liara:"Threesome?"
Shep & Tali:"yay!"
Wrex:"Room for some Krogan?"
Liara & Tali:"yay!"

somthing to that effect will be one of the endings... BioWare loves multpile endings ranging from happily ever after. to a nutral, to MY GOD WHAT THE HELL IS THIS. to evil ending.

I do wonder how extreme (or not) the variation in endings will be for ME3. Consider if you will, the Rachni's promise to aid you if their Queen was spared. Maybe (purely hypothetical) Shepard falls down to a gunshot wound short of activating the 'Reaper Killswitch' and suddenly a Rachni warrior picks him up and carries him the rest of the way.

That particular story would be lame, but it gets the point across. Making allies, or enemies, in ME1 and 2 judges who fights for you in ME3.

My whole problem with a situation like that is that it requires the player to have beaten ME1 and ME2 a certain way if they want the best ending.  I can see decisions like saving the rachni and keeping the collector base having a minor effect on the ending, but I can't see how Bioware can justify screwing over everyone who didn't play the first two.

They were fine screwing people who didnt play ME1 by having you do everything renegade if you didnt import.

Would be rather stupid to play ME3 without playing the other two though, just as it is with playing ME2 without having played the first one.

Something that may be interesting in ME3 regarding your LI and TIM, is he appears to have some "leverage" on most of the LIs, thanks to the resources/information available to Cerberus.

Miranda = Protecting her sister
Tali = Possibly something to help immune system
Thane = Something for his disease
Jack = Something regarding what Cerberus did to her
Liara = Info on the shadow broker
Jacob/Kaiden/Ashley/Garrus = I'm sure there's something he could dig up

So, who'll risk a "deal with the devil" for their LI?

If TIM even gets near Tali i'll give him to Grunt for some "Krogan Love", then let EDI bore him to death with stupid jokes and finally send him to Jack and let her have fun

I would definitely prefer a situation like that where your decisions matter, I just don't see it happening when you look at ME2.  No matter how big of a decision it was in ME1, it didn't change anything in ME2.  I just see more of the same happening in ME3.

And it may be stupid, but a lot of people played the second without playing the first.  Bioware can't ignore the people that didn't buy 2 when making 3.  Bad business move.

That was kind of crappy.  Of course, I imported my "favorite" characters from ME 1, but I want to make new ones too.  The first ME 2 "start" character I made was an engineer (since I didn't have an engineer in ME 1 and wanted to try it), and I was a little disappointed that they automatically made it so I picked the renegade path.  I think they should have given you a screen like when you import your ME 1 character and let you choose what you "would have done" in the last game.
