It's one thing to be able to call the evidence about her looking human circumstantial, but there is absolutely nothing that should make us expect 4 nostrils or something.
Four nostrils is much less alien than the Batarians, honestly, who for some reason you said look more human than Quarians do. They have much different shaped heads with four eyes and needle teeth. Can't say I agree with that assessment.
I'm not saying it is likely or unlikely that Quarians have four holes in their nose instead of two, I'm just saying that it is the sort of minor detail that is quite simply impossible to take into account with the sort of evidence we have. We only know things about their general form and shape. The book gives info about their ears -- okay, that's one minor detail. The eyebrow thing I find extremely sketchy, I really think people are reading too much into one little screen shot.
Will she have a form very close to human? Absolutely. Will it look very close to human? Probably, but I'm just guessing, and so is everyone else.
Tbh, I've never really looked closely at a batarian. I was under the impression that they were just humans with 4 eyes. When I'm calling these other races human-like, its in the sense that to come up with the species, they had to have started with a human shape, and then modify it slightly. Like for asari, take a female human, swap hair for a tentacle head, done. drell, take a human, give him scales, done.
I expect something similar for the quarians. Start with a human, make the eyes glow, done. With the rest of the body, that's a lot more changes than the others I mentioned.
My original point was that I think people are expecting Tali to be "too alien," I just don't see it.
