This only seems like a good analysis if you completely ignore the possible motivations behind the action.
If you asked Kaiden or Garrus or Wrex to do it, they'd be doing it because someone asked them to, and maybe because they thought you deserved a proper burial.  If TIM were to do it, it would have been because he wanted to use you just as he used you in ME2.  When Liara did it, it was specifically because she wanted to bring you back to life because she cared for you.  You cannot always separate an action from the motivation that produced it.

Yeah, but I get the feeling that she more did it for the benefit of herself than for Shepard or the relationship.  She's simply become a really egocentric, selfish person, imo.  Maybe I seem like I'm being a bit harsh, but IRL I'm extremely unattracted to those type of people.

I personally think your assessment is way off, and you aren't even willing to give the person who saved your life the benefit of the doubt?  I mean, what benefit does she get out of it for herself anyway?  She did it for YOU.

in this case the lines are kind of blurred.  Commader Shepard is apparrently such a valuable asset that bringing him back to life could really have nothing to do with personal feelings and more to do with pursuing a greater good or making profit.  While I definitely appreciate the gesture, I am still highly suspicious about why she did it without a thorough explanation.  like someone pointed out: the Illusive Man brought be back and he's not in love with me.

We are talking about Shepard, btw.  If someone saved *my* life in real life, of course I'd be totally devoted to them.  That's me though: a normal, unimportant guy, not the hero of the galaxy

Well my attitude is based on my real-life view of relationships.  If you want me, you need to act like it: you can't ditch me for your own selfish reasons and expect me to happily come back when you change your mind.  It would especially irritate me if she didn't give me a good explanation of why she did it.  I mean, if in ME 3 Liara explains why and apologizes, I'll understand and we can still be friends.  But you get one shot with me, so I'm not going to take her back.  Tali stuck with me the whole time: she's the easy choice.

Maybe she will in ME3, or in that rumored dlc.

Well either way, I'm sticking with Tali.  It would be pretty hard not to even if Liara hadn't left you in the first place because...come on...it's Tali!

Btw, I keep hearing this rumor of "Liara DLC": is this something legitemate Bioware has discussed, or did people "just decide" there should be a DLC with her and it's been bouncing around the forums long enough to mistranslate into an planned download?

Some files in the pc version showed the possibility.
And I will give Liara the benefit of the doubt and stay with her.

I'll make this clear: I don't hate Liara as a character, and I'd definitely play a character with her as a romance to see what happens.  However, my character that is now with Tali would not, from the opinions I have shown so far.

So I'm wondering if they add Kaiden/Liara to that supposed DLC too?
