in this case the lines are kind of blurred.  Commader Shepard is apparrently such a valuable asset that bringing him back to life could really have nothing to do with personal feelings and more to do with pursuing a greater good or making profit.

But what could that possibly be?
She isn't attempting to put you in any situation in which you need to do anything for her, and she privately fears that you'll hate her for allowing Cerberus to revive you.  She wouldn't be concerned about what you think of her if her intentions were purely selfish anyway.  Besides, assuming that you believe that her personality in ME1 was genuine, why would she suddenly become so selfish?

The only viable explanation for her obsessive behavior is emotional and psychological trauma, and the evidence for it happening is right there in front of you: the Shadow Broker.  What you're suggesting simply doesn't make ANY sense unless you assume that Liara was never who she said she was in the first game, or unless you assume that it is because of something that isn't even hinted at about at all in the second game.

She's in the "information business" right now: she even says to Shepard "I have debts to pay."  While she may not have wanted to give Shepard to Cerberus, but she needed to gain the money or power needed to after the Shadow Broker - her obsession.  Or, the Illusive Man could have convinced her that his Lazarus program was the only way to bring back Shepard and thus save the Galaxy, so she did it out of a belief for the greater good.  

I'm not saying this makes her a "bad person", and you may be completely right in your argument.  However, from the perspective of my Shepard if he looks at the facts and no theories are made, her behavior appears very self-motivated.  That doesn't destroy my image of a person: if I eventually got an explanation, I would accept it and we woudl be on good terms again.  But I wouldn't get back into a relationship with her, and I wouldn't feel bad abotu declining her offer to continue it.

Hmm, I'm starting to wonder how the beginning of ME3 is going to play out. Maybe nothing big happens and you keep your current crew.. or many years has gone by and some of your current crew has left the normandy... or maybe something happens again to the normandy and stuff.

I suspect it'll take place a relatively short time after the events of ME2.

I'm also pretty confident that nothing will happen to the Normandy this time.

See, the Normandy's destruction/Shepard's death in ME2 was a deus ex machina to do a slight "reboot" of the ME universe. It allowed them to suddenly introduce the thermal clip concept, to let the players explore other LIs, to replace the Normandy with a bigger and more complete version (complete with an illegal AI), and also to return to the status quo of no one believing in the Reapers. 

The way I see it, ME1 + ME2 = ME1, and ME 3 = ME2.

I wrote this several days ago. Now I have an excuse to repost it!

Shepard: What? What's wrong Tali?

Tali: There's some strange alien down there! It rubbed against my leg, then when I looked at it, it ran away; now I don't know where it is.

Shepard: Oh....her.

Tali: Her? You know about this?

Shepard: Yeah...she' a "cat". They're a native animal of earth. They're popular pets among humans. I found her on Freedom's Progress after we parted ways. With her owners gone, I figured I'd take her to an animal shelter on the Citadel. I just kinda forgot about her.

Tali: You forgot? Did you also forget that animals leave fecal matter on the ground, where anyone can step on it?

I forgot the fanfic, forgive me whoever wrote it (was awesome), but I think shepard could be betrayed by the council in the next one.
