It is going to be a fantastic, eye-opening experience, trust me.  There is nothing quite like venturing out of your home country for the first time., just be willing to embrace the unfamiliar.  It is a bigger deal for us Americans since we are not surrounded by other countries mere hours away, as Europeans are.  We are fairly isolated, and frankly I think it makes us ethnocentric.  It is easier to feel close to the other citizens of the world once you've been there and seen how very alike we are, despite our differences.

Scary I know, but you'll enjoy it.

PS: Also, I understand that NZ is absolutely gorgeous.  It is where they filmed LoTR

I'm an american but I think when I moved to Australia it was the best 6 years of my life

There's a way to unlock them on the PC version. You have to download some coalesced file that has them unlocked, at least that's what I did.

I really do need to widen my world view. I've lived in one small town all of my life except for when I was in college, but that was still in the same state.
I don't have much keeping me here. There will be a few friends I'll be leaving behind, but that would really be the worst of it.

NZ is also where the guys from Flight of the Conchords are from, which is equally awesome.

Mainly because I think it was the same group that sung it.
