I just said something like this. I don't think her problem is that she goes down too quickly (then again I micromanage the squad) but that Energy Drain/AI Hacking are only usful on certain occasions. I REALLY wish she didn't use a shotgun.

Her combat drone was nice to have on the last part of the suicide mission, kept Harbinger distracted. If only she weren't close range based

I do agree with the shotgun statement i wish she used like sub machine guns and snipers thats more suiting
but I never had a problem with her dying, I always watch out for her and make sure my team uses the right powers and is in the right positions out of harms way.

That achievement for beating the game on Insanity is one I will never get. I managed to make it to the fight before meeting up with Kadin/Ash before I gave up and dropped the difficulty.
I was dying several times in nearly every firefight and just was not having fun.
Yeah, I know, I suck. <_<

Very much so, yes.

The best? No. Useless? Not at all. I got her in my squad for every mission on Insanity and so far she dies just as much as the rest of my squad. It's probably tactics, cuz I maxxed out her health and I rarely make her use her shotgun and am pretty good at moving them around. The main part that I like about having Tali in my squad is that she doesn't hop on top of boxes and stand there with no cover till they die. Miranda, Jack, and Jacob so far are the most useless characters for me because they do that ALL the time.
