I don't think people are capable of this. Even amongst 'true' Tali fans, is there not a remark made off topic? Isn't the response to that remark the very source of conversation topics?

Of course I could be completely wrong. I've never been in the steam chat, but I do doubt it is 100% Tali. Any off topic conversation in the chat is probably less noticed than on the forums, where it can be reread.

I agree with both of your statements, but they seem to be on sliding scale of extremes. We can cut some of the way off topic stuff out, but we can't create a totalitarian thread.

Ok, you're actually speaking my thoughts pretty much, so I must have just worded myself wrong.  Let me see if I can straighten this out:

I don't expect the thread to be 100% Tali.  A lot of times talks about Tali branch to other topics, which is ok as long as we occasionally talk about Tali.  What was irritating me is that new people (people I had never seen on the forum before) were coming on and yelling at us for being "off topic" when we had only been off topic for a second.  It was irritating because they weren't even contributing to the topic in the first place, as if they stopped by just to say "you're off topic."

So I think if someone wants to complain about the thread being off topic, they should at least try to help get it "on topic" by suggesting something Tali-related to talk about, rather than just complaing about it and not contributing.  Hope that makes a bit more sense.

Very nice tune!  OCR (ocremix.org), the place where I found the song, has alot of talented remixers.  One of them, whose screen name is Big Giant Circles, actually has music on ME 2 according to the site.  Check it out.  Hopefully they will have some ME and ME 2 remixes soon.

I really appreciate you guys trying to take a stand for getting this thread back on track. As I'm sure many of you have noticed, many of the people who helped start this thread, people who were here back when it just Tali_Love on the old ME Forums, have left because they have been unable to keep the Trolls away as well as the people who want to drag the topic down simply because they're bored and want the attention or hate that someone loves something in a way they never could. Many of the Veterans left because they were fighting an uphill battle Alone, while we just sort of sat back and let people come in with angry or off topic discussions or insanely disgusting pictures.

If we want this thread to get back to what it was we really need to stand up, fight the Trolls when they show up, and do what we can to get people who are not respecting the Thread to go elsewhere. And no, just because a Forum is supoosed to be a place where you can excercise free speech does not mean you can come in and be a piece of Human Garbage just because you have the time to do so. If you have something unpleasant to talk about, start your own thread. It's easy, plus it will be nice when that thread gets locked and not this one. Well, those are my two cents. Like I said, when people stop taking a stand to keep this Thread Tali Love all the way, the Trolls and the Hateful people win and this thing will be done. Just, try to keep that in mind.

Well-said, another thing I just want to add to that:

I don't think this applies to  most of you here because most of you are regulars who have good discussions about Tali, however, this was happening a lot today: random people were coming in and saying things like "Wow, this is stupid because we aren't talking about Tali" or "Stop talking about dumb stuff and get back on topic." 

If you want to say things like this, it's YOUR job to get the thread back on topic.  We go off topic sometimes to take breaks from talking about Tali or to get to know each other better.  If you don't like that, you have two options:

1.  Leave
2.  Bring up a really interesting topic about Tali and sell it

But dont' come onto the thread expecting other people to entertain you with Tali discussions and not contribute yourself.  If you dont' have anything to say, you're not interested enough.  Find another thread.

Yeah I perfectly agree with you: generally the topics should be Tali-related.  However, I don't think we need to sound the alarm the minute it goes off topic, because usually we work our way back.  Earlier today, there would be like one or two posts off and then people would start saying "This is off topic! YOu guys are sad 'cause you're not even talking about Tali."  Yet these were people I had not seen on here before and hadn't even been in the conversations about Tali.  

So I say if you want the thread to get back on topic, help by getting the thread on topic, not by complaing about it and then not participate in the discussions.

(Laughs) Generally? Generally related to Tali? No, sorry. The Topics should Always be related to Tali. There is no middle ground. With all due respect, you say you understand, but it's clear you don't. You would condemn the actions of those who take the thread off topic on one hand, while seemingly welcoming it with the other. I, on more than one occasion, have attempted to bring the Topic back around to Tali, as has Antilles and many others. However, Thread readers such as yourself will often come up and say things similar to what you have posted above to validate thier actions. If someone comes in and wants to see people talking about Tali, then this is the Thread where they should be able to do so.

If they come in and see people talking about something not Tali related they are in right to question that. The idea that someone needs to come in and Force people to get back on Tali Topics is ludicrous, since it should not be off topic in the first place. There is no rationalization for that. It's simply a fact, and that Fact is pointed out in the name of this Thread. If someone needs me to start a Topic, than by all means, ask. I'm sure I can think of more than a few things if I must. However, I shouldn't have to always do that, nor should I be critized if I am unable.

Also, there are beings in the ME galaxy old enough to remember Quarian faces... so to say no one outside quarians know what they look like is just dumb.
