Sure he does, I only mention the writer of the story writing the books to explain that it is doubtful he would alter his books in a way that would contradict with the game, as one individual mentioned.

Well what "canon" means is what actually happened. For example, Revan was canonically a lightside male. But that's Star Wars. This is Mass Effect and I doubt Bioware will write what gender Shepard was and his/her romantic interest.

yes mass effect is too multi- lateral to have one specific thing be canon.
but if I were to say something is canon on mass effect I would say it has 2 canon.. things.. lol
(note these are just how I could see the canon game being lol)
Male shep- paragon- Tali romance or Liara. lol
Fem shep- paragon- Garrus Romance or kaiden lol
so really like we said there is no CANON its all choices anyway lol rthose were just my thoughts on the matter lol

Obviously the books must be 'canon' though because there is no room for choice, unless they are about to release Retribution as a choose your own adventure (that'd be awesome) the books are canon to the Mass Effect universe as a whole.

Hey, I can't speak for everyone. I know it's a problem for me, and I'm making the assumption that the vast majority of gamers who do not post here might have the same problem I do.

I deal in generalities and vague assumptions. It's what I do.

I dont know, I was doing another run of ME2 today and I started to actually use him a bit...

Zaeed and his Squad Disruptor Ammo are a lifesaver on Insanity against Geth.

this talk of TIM is pretty interesting. perhaps make it its own thread and lets get back to Tali. Here's my take:

TIM is a well written character, but you have to separate the good writing from his questionable morality. here's something to think about: support of TIM in-game is probably the equivalent of support against Tali.
maybe it will boil down to this decision: Cerberus or Tali?

I choose Tali.

Most people who play Mass Effect are not as knowledgeable about the storyline as we are. They wouldn't even think about the possibility of a place holder and instead probably just accept gray as the Quarian skin color.

Again, assumptions, but accurate ones methinks.
