For me it's a compromise to have Legion in my party. I often have either Garrus or Tali in my party, sometimes both. To use Legion;

-AI Hacking & Combat Drone a la Tali
-Widow sniper rifle, makes the rest of the snipers obsolete
-Geth Shield Boost, adds further durability over most squadmates

But can't I have love for all three of them?

What about Zaeed?

For the record on Zaeed, he was a merc leader, I'm sure he has killed hundreds, if not thousands of innocent people in his line of work.  If he sees a ship that he can make money off of by killing off its crew, he'll do it.

This all ties into the fact that ME2 is a very renegade game.  I honestly don't see how there are so many super-paragons.  What part of starting a prison riot, getting hundreds of guards and prisoners killed, to break a criminal out of jail sounds paragon?  Just look at Garrus's recruitment mission.  You have the renegade option of electrocuting Cathka, and then you don't have an option on whether or not you shoot freelancers (people who have killed/hurt a lot less people than other mercs) in the back when you go to save Garrus.  ME2 in general is about doing whatever it takes to stop the collectors, ME1 was about saving as many people as you can on the way to finish the job.  There's a difference.

ME2 is the Empire Strikes back of trilogies... It's supposed to be dark, with spots of light every so often..

Most of the way I even got Paragon, was by being nice to my squad, I was a douchebag pretty much to the rest of the galaxy.
