Like I said before, if your science fiction is popular, people will try to disect every minute detail.  They clearly overlooked that if they said the galaxy doesn't know what quarians look like, because its impossible.  Personally, I'm not going to take an author's word as gospel when it can't be true.  If they can create some magical reason, then I'll listen, but I can't even imagine a possible explanation.

It also mentions in the book a scenario where a group of people take off the mask of a quarian, none of them make a big deal of it, or really care at all. It kind of indicates that nobody really cares what they look like though.

Curiosity is one of the driving forces of human nature.  You can't expect billions of people to not care about something as huge as the appearance of a sentient alien race.  If the people don't make a big deal about seeing a quarian unmasked, the only explanation is that they already knew what they looked like. 

And sorry if I'm coming off as an ass, I usually move on to another argument by now, but no one else is posting

I'm not getting assyness from you. We don't live in the Mass Effect universe though. So I could see the authors getting away with telling us that nobody cares what quarians look like. Hell Most people in the US don't even know where Afghanistan is on a map, not that they couldn't find out, but they don't care.

My point is the general public, apperantly, has no clue, maybe they just really don't care.

Well friend, it's really poor-writing imho. They should look for a writer who has more colorful imagination and creativity...

He's written the whole series so far, including the games. He's done a bang up job imo. But I guess, everyone in this forum really hates the fact nobody knows what a quarian looks like. They just refuse to accept it, so you guys definelty have more leverage than me.

Actually, Bioware stated that they do know how Quarians look like. They just didn't show them to us.

Well, kind of a related topic, would humanity in the ME universe be that different from our humanity?  I would assume they used our world up until 2010 or whatever, and then life continues normally for 150 years or whatever until the mass effect discovery changes everything.  People still had the inclination to fight the first people they see in the galaxy, meaning they aren't that different then than they are now.  I actually see humanity as a whole acting almost identically to how they do now.

And if there was something big out there that we didn't know about, we would be spending money and be curious as hell to find out.

I'm pretty sure A LOT of people know what quarians look like, it's likely an extranet search away from finding out. This is simply the player/player character disconnect, where the character knows while the player does not.

And honestly, don't insult Drew. He's had a MAJOR hand in the ME universe and FAR more imaginative and creative than most people, so don't throw that at him.

They're the creators of everything, of coarse they would know, but not neccesarily their characters.

Casey Hudson knows what Tali looks like, so does the dev team that did the art/model for her.
