I'm not criticizing anyone for being 'not tasteful'. Where did I say that? If you think it's good, more power to you, but I feel that fanart is more or less subpar considering all things.

Superb feedback ... if this were a graphics forum. Oh dear ... Where has the common courtesy gone? The internet used to be so much friendlier. People tipping their keyboards at each other as they wandered down virtual streets. People always had a "Hi" and an "a/s/l" on their lips.

Being cynical and or "honest" for the sake of it isn't cool. It's just not cool.

So yeah. That's a pretty good example of good Tali fanart right there.
And honestly, I'm not forcing my opinion on anyone. I'm just stating what I feel on that particular piece of fanart. If you don't consider my opinion valid, then don't. It's not like I'm anti-Tali fanart. That one up there is a pretty good example of what I'd consider 'good fanart'.

This is being a critic, I'm not the greatest drawer or artist but that doesn't mean I can't have tastes and have feelings on what's good as opposed to bad. So because this isn't an art thread, I can't say whether I like it or not? I wasn't looking for an opportunity to shoot it down. I saw it, got terrible flashbacks to the demons I sealed long ago when I was given a pencil and thought it'd be a cool idea to draw an Elite from Halo and delivered my opinion. I don't know why you're taking up such a huge issue with this. Right now, you seem rather defensive because I don't like it as much as everyone else seems to.

If thread graphical in nature, full criticism warranted. Even desired - beneficial to author in long run. If art addition to related subject, politeness deserved. Posted for relevance, rather than source. Full criticism only if requested, never assumed. Better that way.

He has every much a right to dislike something and to say it, as everyone else does to like something and say it.

For reference. This is what I consider good. Strong brush-strokes, attention to detail and shading (shading!) and besides the nitpicky part of me pointing out the helmet is a little too oblong, rather great in general.
