I know this is off topic but goes anyone have an idea of the different types of people that you'll try to get on your side for ME3 like the Quarians and Geth.

Anyone with a respectable army.

Quarians, geth, humans, turians, asari, salarians, krogan.  Maybe the merc groups as a whole as well.

Don't forget the Rachni!

It's also better without the face marking. Although I like this idea, there's just something...off about it. I'm not sure what it is, but something just doesn't seem right whenever I look at it.

I've heard the latter comment often, and I think I know why some people feel off about the picture. Really, aside from it being a detailed picture, Tali is looking towards the viewer via a sideways glance, so it seems more...femme fatale than it was intended to be. I've spoken with Cyrus on his DeviantArt page, and he agreed that it does seem more provocative than he intended it to be. As to the facial marking? Well...given how little an amount of time Quarian spend out of thier suits it would not really make alot of sense for them to have markings or tattoos like the Asari or Turians. Also, the darker shade of lavender skin is unlikely, main due to lighter skin tone from lack of UV exposure.

Without getting into the whole UV exposure thing too far.  Bioware can easily have them pale without sun or not.  There is no guarantee that they would react the same as us.

Acutally (and forgive me, I love this topic) it quite likely that Quarians would react in a very similar fashion to Humans to UV exposure as most species in the ME Universe do react to thier respective Stars of origin. The Turians, for example, developed thier outer skin layer to protect against thier Red Dwarf Star. Given that Quarians share a very similar ancestry with us, it's not too far fetched at all to assume that they would react to UV light in the same way we do; i.e., darker skin when exposed to UV light for long periods of time to protect the skin from damage, and lighter skin with lack of UV exposure due to decrease in iron, etc.

I still dont think that the Quarians have such a great army...
Compared to all the other races I mean.

Well they have to be able to defend the flotilla from any potential attackers.  So it has to at least be respectable.  Whether or not it's dwarfed by the council races, who knows.

I cant imagine the fire power can match any other race. Look at the races that have dreadnaughts.
Although They do have the largest fleet in the galaxy.

ROFL. I would, but that seems like quite the hefty pirating. Mathematica (v7) is also a big risky one.

Do you reckon Quarians have eyelashes?

If we accept that Drew Karpyshyn's work on the "Mass Effect: Ascension" book is gospel, then that may well be the case. It describes a Quarian with torn flesh around one eye where the eye lid was ripped off with a pair of pliers, or some such thing IIRC. While eyelids do not have to denote eyelashes it makes for a plausible possibility (which would also be logical from a biological perspective in regards to keeping dirt and dust out of the eyes, and since Rannoch has been described as similar to Earth but more arid that appears to reinforce the logical biology of such an assumption - it is not proof however).

Armies, or fleets?

Both.

Army is bad because it's too small to make a difference in interstellar wars-they're only 17 million in total, so they have about, what, half a million in the army at most?

Fleet can't be good because they need all their ships to live on = no pure military ships = inefficient. I dare say that the Turians, hell, even the humans have a bigger number of ships that can actually fight.

I still love quarians, though.

But they got the biggest navy.....50000 ships if I am correct.....even if only 10 % were warships that would still be a buttload

Codex hints at similar numbers. All ships have defenses but only a small percentage are real warships designed for combat.

They run all their warships in constant patrols intercepting interlopers immediately. They may have one of the best trained war fleets around, but how well they'll do in a straight up fight is unknown.
