Even as a Paragon Shepard, I really don't want to "save" the council...again.
Seriously, they deserve to get rachni tentacle violated in the worse possible way imaginable. Sadly though, the only way I see them getting their just deserts is if the Reapers somehow managed to remote access the Citadel Relay, come in and wipe the Citadel. This would mean a scene where Anderson dies a heroic death but not before getting off a signal to Shepard and crew.

Thus begins the Reaper war and ME3. No? Desperate fight for survival begings and one that everyone isn't prepared for. Humanity and what's left of the council fleet fights a defensive but loosing battle and its up to Shepard to save the day. Quarian fleet, Krogans, Rachni (if you saved the Queen) and perhaps a new player yet to be introduced in ME3 rides in to save the day with Shepard leading the way.

I agree with hatred of the council.

And the proposed ME3 events would be epic Image IPB

Don't people realize that THE PROTHEANS were bugs too?!

Highly speculative. The Collectors are former Protheans that have undergone extensive genetic tinkering at the hands of the Reapers. Personally I subscribe to the camp that holds the Protheans likely looked like the giant statues found on Ilos in ME1.

I agree, I should've added "likely" in there. But you really have to wonder how much modification one has to undergo before turning into a giant insect.

They turned an intelligent, sentient beings, into an entire race of subordinant drones.... I'd say it was pretty heavy.

Yes, yes, yes, next time I'll remember to think before posting *facepalm*

Speaking of facepalms, when i was playing horizon last night, I had to facepalm each time Ashley said something. I wanted to punch her like just like Al-Jilani.

If I take her somewhere nice, I won't need to play with my omni tool.

Trick question really. I take her out otherwise I'll be stuck with the omni-tool as my only option for weeks. :?

Another brilliant fanfic, some of you guys write some great stuff!

I agree, so far all Tali fanfics I've read (NuclearBudha's, knight(numbersIforgot)'s and now this one, I know, it's not much, but I've only recently become a fanatic, and they quench my thirst for moar Tali, usually I don't read fanfics at all) seem to capture her personality extremely well, I'm impressed by all of your writing skills, really.

Would it be possible that the specie that the reapers came from was a bug race? Everything the reapers change takes those qualities.

It's possible. An alternative theory might be that a number of insect species throughout the galaxy operate efficiently and effectively with a hive mind setup that leaves little room for questioning/disobedience, and that that might be the reason the Reapers seem to favour insectoid forms.

Alright we've got a pretty good idea of potential allies, but now let's think about what we will probably have to do to get them on our side.

I was running through ME1 on a new file but gave up because of the excessive amount of fail. Playing ME2 once again. Image IPB It sucks, I need that new file but the improved gameplay of the sequel makes it hard to do.

Not only are we a talented bunch, but we also have the ability to self-mediate. I don't know if you were around for that 20 page discussion about the geth and the quarians, but we did a rather decent job (imho) at regulating ourselves.

I like to consider the council's behavior in ME2 as punishment for the people that saved them in ME1.  Without metagame knowledge, at what point is risking every life in the galaxy a good idea?  If you use your army to save the council, and can't defeat Sovereign because of it, a lot of good having the council alive will do when the hundreds of other reapers barbacue everyone.  From Shep's perspective, you have no idea how strong Sovereign is.  You may have just enough ships to defeat him.

That was the one paragon decision in ME1 that I fully disagreed with. (I believe the neutral option counts as renegade.)  It's really hard to justify in my eyes.  The only thing I can think of is that it's being pragmatic, risking lives to secure an ally assumung you live?  Doesn't seem very paragon.

This too is what I think the "keystone" quest will be for ME3. Some form of "hive mind" Queen /master control unit. One that Shepard and crew needs to take out to save the day while the surving combined human and council fleet fight a desperate holding war against the main reaper fleet.
