They had a lot of things that were on the old boards for ME1 put into ME2.

Most famous example: Blasto, the Hanar SPECTRE.

Don't forget, the vending machine in ME2 referenced 'Paragade', which was an in-joke created in the forums R.E. how a fusion between Paragon and Renegade sounds like a sports drink.

That just gave me an idea. The achievment for destroying the Reapers and saving the day should be called "Don't fear the Reapers" that would be the best.
