That's what it said for the schools I've look at here in MO.
But, I've SEEN cops with glasses, so. . .I don't know.
I'm thinking about calling some of these schools and double checking if that's true or not.

Yeah, never heard of that.
Ive seen cops here as well with glasses.

They had 20/20 when they got in.

Doubtful, Ive seen many young rookies with glasses here.

I always wanted to be one since I was a kid, but all of the academys I've looked at said you need 20/20 vision to enroll.
I, sadly, do not have 20/20 vision.
Stupid eyes. . .

I got eye surgery when i first joined the Marines, all free and relativly fast.

They paid for you to get laser sergery?

As a 0311 Riflemen we need good eyesight. Plus they pay for all medical bills, but being a Riflemen puts me at the top of the waiting list so i get it FIRST!

Thats awesome dude.  In my opinion, any of our soldiers should get ANY medical treatment or surgery for free.  Thats the least we can do for their service and sacrifice.  I respect anybody who has had the courage to/will serve in our armed forces.

Any engineers out there?

My dad's a mechanical engineer, works for Johnson Matthey. Well, really he's in the marketing dep and works a lot with the EPA and such, but his degree is in mech eng.

Sweet.
Yeah personally I am going for an Eng.Phys degree, mech option...should be interesting in the coming years...

I hope it isn't as violent as I fear it could be.
Honestly I think the most realistic depiction is in the movie 'Contact' (one of my favorites), but the way first contact was made in that movie is much different than simply having an alien land on Earth.  It will depend highly on the nature of our first interactions.  Regardless, though, there will be a big mixture of different religious and philosophical reactions, with attitudes ranging from fear to awe and wonder.
