No, the other pods launched a while before Jokers I think. What I really wonder about is how there was anything left of Shepard Cerberus could reanimate. How did they manage to turn dust back into a human?(Or did he not actually fall into the atmosphere of that planet in the background?)
I was under the impression that his suit saved him. The kinetic shields and stuff keeping him from complete disentigration. Not sure if that's supported anywhere, just my assumption.
In that case he could easily survive being hit by pretty much anything. A shell fired by a modern tank wouldn't leave a dent in that armor
Kinetic barriers in ME work like this. They repel all forces that trigger them (requires a specific velocity to deploy) and pushes back with an equal amount of force. Thus the harder the hit the more of the stored energy from the shield is used to repel the object. Once the shield has hit it's capacity it releases all it's energy in a single violent burst strong enough to cancel all man portable projectiles(That shattering shout you hear when the shields fall is that repelling action).
Once your shields are down you're just as squishy as any other human being.
However Alliance marines undergo genetic alterations upon their induction to the ranks. If you look at the timeline given to you by the Codex for the procedures and the timeline of Shepard's recruitment (18) then his in game age (29) he's had the 10 years to undergo the entire body reinforcing process. His organs, skin and bones are all stronger than a normal human being to begin with.
So in the end Shepard ain't as squishy as a lot of people keep assuming.
