On the topic of War40k if Mass effect made a table top game how many of you guys would be quarians?

The Quarians live dominantly on ships. They do not need be as experienced and tested on land as other races, who actually have habitable planets. Disease and sickness claim plenty of lives in war, this has been true in our human history. It may even be the number one cause of death among soldiers, aside from the more contemporary human wars. And the Quarians are even more susceptible due to their poor immune systems. Not only are they relatively inexperienced, they are more likely to die due to infection.

I can see the Quarians pulling a Millennium Falcon. Shepard is just about to destroy the main Reaper but has enemies all around him. Then the Fleet comes in out of nowhere and kills just enough enemies to let Shepard take down the main Reaper....

If Star Wars isn't your cup of tea then put in Rohan riding in to save Gondor in RotK...

Side question Wolf. Do you think Golo died to quickly?  I would have prefered a slow death for him.

Im thinking Quariens will look Amphibian. Just by looking at their ships and their build. But im probably wrong on this.

Codex says they quarians developed from mammal analogs so.... yeah just putting that out there.

I'd probably play quarians, and maybe turians as well

On to speculation about Quarian military. I think that the quarians have a small fairly profcient navy. the rest of the migrant fleet may be a cobbled together bunch of scrap but I think they have some decent ships otherwise why doesn't every pirate and slaver just band together and wide them out?

Also the codex states that the Quarian Marines are quite good at urban and boarding operations, they just lose out in large scale battles. Kal'Reegar also states that the quarians can win wars if they do it from orbit. When you're guarding a massive target like the Migrant fleet you tened to take your job seriously. The codex also states that they have hundreds of warships, probably working ones. They have a strength that is thus so far unseen but they can't compete with a galactic power like the Turians or Systems Alliance

The reason why their ops die or anybody is that they just don't have the awesomeness that you do. Have you ever seen any others survive in counters with the geth but you and your team with the people you saved? I haven't so without you anybody else would just die to the geth anyways in general. You saved the galaxy twice said it all. Its not that they have a bad military ops for soldiers. Its just they don't have the skill of a Spectre like you and your team does. They where surprised you came out of the Aleri alive says a lot. Even tho you killed hundreds of geth before and you saved the galaxy before that. Its simple a army can't do what you can do because you are a god. You could face a army of the best soldiers in the galaxy and you could kill them all without breaking a sweat. Thats why you have a Spectre status. Your a god, thats what a Spectre is, above the law, above armies, above all else. Your unstoppable, even death can not hold you the 1st time. Lets face it Shepard is a God, and Tali is a Goddess.

professional, trained military personal should give a better account
of themselves then represented up to this point.

A lot of movies have professional military personel getting wasted to make the hero look better. That doesn't mean that the Rangers/SEALS/SWAT teams etc are bad, them just had to look bad to make you look better.

Also most of their gear is not all that great. And most of the time Kenetic barriers in general last long enough fo you to relize your going to die.
